This is finally the primer to the Luciferian Path. In this book is covered the theory and practice of Luciferian Witchcraft. I don't know, maybe its just me, but I did not understand this book. The information seems really scattered and the whole book seems like it just goes all over the place. Some of what I read I liked. Im not knockin this book, cause maybe I just need to go over it again as I am new to this particular area of the occult. However, I really thought I was getting something...

This is finally the primer to the Luciferian Path. In this book is covered the theory and practice of Luciferian Witchcraft. Former attempts to codify the basics were a tad sketchy ("Bible of The Adversary" and "Beginning Luciferian Magick") but this book brings it home. Here we have the map for the inner journey that Mr. Ford has been looking invite us on. Using the Dark Achetypes is a very challenging and yet rewarding approach. If you are of the Left Hand Path and have been looking to deepen that experience, this is a perfect place to start.
P.S. Don't be afraid to bring your skepticism. As a matter of fact, Mr. Ford encourages it.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Masterwork On Luciferian Practice, April 14, 2010

This review is from: Adversarial Light: Magick of the Nephilim (Paperback)
This book explains Luciferian philosophy, and practice, clearly and with much care. Also it established the foundation to working with the Watchers, and practicing the craft of the Nephilim. Finally a grimoire of Angel Magick for the LHP, without the supplications or banal prayers to the mind destroying RHP. This book is excellent for both beginners and Adepts of the LHP.

However, I really thought I was getting something else, something more coherent I guess, when I ordered this book. Just my 2 cents.

I have read other of Ford's books, and I have to admit from the start--I am not a Luciferian. I am a Spiritual Satanist. I see the Adversary as very complex and choose not to limit my perception of Him just by the name "Lucifer" because even though I agree he IS the lightbringer, I prefer "Satan-Lucifer" and I also see Satan as having encompassed more than one God throughout history. Enki, Set, Ptah, Quetzlcoatl to name a few. And also very importantly: Azazel and his Watcher brothers. I have been obsessed with the Watchers and their offspring the Nephilim for decades, and part of that is because quite frankly--and you need not believe this but it is true--one of them is my Guardian. Still, there is information in this book I had never seen before, and other things I did know of but never tied it in with the Watchers and Nephilim. For those reasons, this book has value for me. My only caveat is that Ford has this habit in all his books of making "pronouncements" such as "Luciferians believe..." as though he is the only authority on what a "Luciferian" must believe. I don't believe ANYONE knows everything about anyone else's path, even when considering the same deity or spirituality. Ford is for instance a believer that "I am my own god, there are NO other gods"-- well, "God"--can you manipulate the weather? Mine can. Can you, using unseen means, manipulate computers, machinery, physical objects, can you READ minds? Can you tell me the future? Mine can. If and when you can show me you have these abilities and even more, it is then I will believe you are "your own God." Now that's not to say I don't believe we can BECOME Gods--I think it's possible. I also admire any human who strives to navigate their life using their own Will, and tries to be self-determined. But they are still HUMAN, and to me--not God.

So while the information in this books has much relevance to me, I simply have to overlook Ford's arrogance in trying to define for us what "a Luciferian believes." If you can do the same, and you have a deep interest in these Beings, you really owe it to yourself to take a look at this book. Even despite caveats, I would very definitely recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great intro to Mr. Ford's Luciferianism, October 27, 2010

This review is from: Adversarial Light: Magick of the Nephilim (Paperback)
This text, combined with The Bible of the Adversary, creates a well rounded and easy to understand picture of what Michael W. Ford has been writing about for years. Additionally, in Adversarial Light he delves much more deeply into the Watchers from the Book of Enoch perspective, providing plenty of information for the practitioner to work one on one with these concepts. I have to say that my absolute favorite parts of this book were the sections where he explains basic Luciferian ideas, making them accessible from any starting point, even the absolute beginner. His perspective is incredibly refreshing and sane, and he really makes Luciferianism practical and realistic without the "nefarious basement-dweller" vibe I get from other authors in the same vein. I also think it's worth noting that, as a female, Mr. Ford's philosophy is respectfully presented, well suited for both genders by emphasizing balance and affirming both dark and light aspects of feminine divinity.

This is a five star book in most aspects, the only thing I had been hoping to see was a little more structure for beginners. There are plenty of ideas for practice as well as completed rites, but you'll have to branch out into other works if you really want a fully structured magickal practice, especially if you have no background in any ritual/magickal traditions. I've been mixing this philosophy with ideas from Demonolatry for creating a day to day practice, and it's been working wonderfully. Overall, I just love this book and refer back to it often. If you're interested in reading Michael W. Ford, you can't go wrong with this one.

Also, I can't help but notice that this is labeled Volume One. I'm hopefully anticipating possible sequels!

I have not finished, about half way through and I'm ready to read more tomorrow. I had thoughts of my own stated and it helped me to see that I am coming along better than I have ever hoped,in my magickal practice. If your to the point where you create your own systems or styles of magick then this may help that happen faster. Mr. Ford says what may be impossible for some to say due to cultural or housing conditions. A great book really gets the blood pumping and this is more than I could have expected.

5.0 out of 5 stars Adversarial Light: Magick of the Nephilim, January 24, 2011

This review is from: Adversarial Light: Magick of the Nephilim (Paperback)
I like the author. He remains sincerly devoted to his particular narrative of self-development.

And with good reason. If we want a deeper and richer experience/expression of life, we have to be that deeper and richer.

The book has "Solid" focusing rituals that empower, give focus, and allow one to experience a freedom that puts you in touch with the respective responsibilities of that freedom. A freedom based on an awareness of unity with it all. . However the book, and its subject isn't for weaklings.

If your personal narrative(s) are fear based, and enlightenment is an alien state of being,....

Stay under your bed.

Great Book. Period.
