First, the positives. It's a nice looking hat. The crown and bill are nicely finished and the ribband is neatly braided and securely attached. I was immediately impressed until I went to put it on my head...

I ordered this hat to replace a Greek fisherman cap that a friend brought back for me from Greece in 1982. I've worn it more days than not over the past 30 years. It has a leather sweat band inside and after a couple of outings in the rain and a few dunkings it formed to fit my head. Even in a full gale, it remains firmly planted on my head.

Unfortunately, this one has a vinyl sweat band. I need a hat to wear sailing, fishing, and generally all around. The vinyl sweat band just won't cut it. Also, it has a steel staple in the sweat band in the back.

In summary, while this hat looks cool and is a perfect hat if you need to dress up like the captain of a fishing boat for a few hours, it's not one that a real boatman is going to want to wear. Sorry to say, I'm returning it.

This is a beautiful cap. Even better than we expected. We did have to return it as we ordered the wrong size even though it was the same hat size that is being worn now. We will probably reorder another one in a smaller size. The service was great and the refund was processed quickly. I highly recommend this cap and the company.The cap is made in Greece which makes it even more authentic.

Well made. Unique look. Only complaint: the liner part that sits against your forehead is a hard material that doesn't breathe. Would be better if it were cloth or leather. This prevents the hat from being comfortable for long periods of wearing. Doesn't hold its shape well when I put it on.
