The final Aeon Flux leaves you wanting more.,
By A Customer
This review is from: Aeon Flux - Operative Terminus [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Not as compelling as the first, but the art and dialogue are top notch. If this truly is the end of the animated Aeon Flux, then let us pray for a live action film to ressurect this strange and wonderful venue.

Aeon Flux: Why is it so cool? Who knows...,
By A Customer
This review is from: Aeon Flux - Operative Terminus [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Enter the world of Aeon Flux; a strange, future world that includes a city split by two very different political parties (much like the berlin wall!) strange charactors with even stranger intentions and well made action sequences. This cartoon has literal and metaphorical meanings. The symbolism that is present in the cartoon is unbelievable. Episodes on this tape include the first episode of the series where we are introduced to Trevor Goodchild, the leader of the "communist" government in which there is no privacy and his obsession with a strange monican woman named Aeon Flux. The second, an even stranger episode is about a magical alien being called the demiurge, in which if one is in it's pressence, they are transformed to a goddly creature and their conscience altered. The third, probably most confusing out of the three, is about Trevor's pardise he has made underneath a million of gallons of strange artificial fluid. It is more like a dream rather than an adventure. In this station, Aeon and her friend have to free a scientist who is the only one who can free the prisoners held in this world. Be totaly blown away at the strange drawings in this series, at the symbolism of little events, the metaphors that are presented in a non-literal sence. This is a must buy for anyone who enjoys philosophy and action.

Misnamed, but at least it completes the series,
This review is from: Aeon Flux - Operative Terminus [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I've been a fan of the Aeon Flux series since the half hour episodes started in 1996. Previously, I had seen the Liquid Television shorts, which I also enjoyed. While I do understand that the timeline of the Aeon Flux universe is muddled, there is definitively a "starting" and an "ending" episode in the half hour series. When I watched on MTV, there was a definitive order to the episodes, which made sense. Monica going from obviously having been part of a larger single country, to the delapitated state we see it in later. So, my disappointment is with this not containing only the "ending" episodes. "The Demiurge" belongs on this tape, but "A Last Time for Everything" should have been on this tape, rather than "Mission Inifnite".
