Bought two of these in August 2011 to use with my Schlage Link (now Nexia) system for a vacation rental home 160 miles away. Use one to detect if a double sliding glass door is closed on both sides by mounting it where both doors meet in the middle. If either side is not completely closed, the sensor shows the door as opened. At first I got multiple event messages each time a door opened or closed, but Nexia customer service fixed the problem for me. Also, the mounting tape on one sensor gave way a week after being mounted and listed a door as opened when it was just the sensor that fell. I put a drop of crazy glue on both sides of the tape and it's held up ever since. I've got two double sliding glass doors upstairs as well, and I'm purchasing two more of these units, one for each double door. When renters leave the upstairs sliders open on warmer days, the AC unit can't cool the house down enough and I keep getting text warnings that the inside temp is 5 degrees warmer than the set temp. Finally figured out that the opened sliders was the issue, not a malfunctioning AC system. This will help diagnose the problem! I do recommend this product as it's working perfectly now for quite a while. Gave it 4 stars instead of five because of the mounting tape and because it doesn't use standard batteries, so replacing them will require purchasing them once you learn the battery is low and so there might be some downtime for the sensor. But there is supposed to be a low battery warning that gets sent to the gateway so there should be some advanced warning about a low battery.

I use this on my garage door and have it programmed into my Vera Lite zwave system by Micasaverde. Although not rated for outdoor use, it worked flawlessly through it's first Chicago winter (other than an occasional battery strength dip due to below freezing temps).

This product works as expected. I am using zVritualScenes on a Windows 7 PC and use this sensor to trigger a scene and send me SMS/email alerts.

It was easy to test while unattached, but I skipped some parts of the manual so it took me a couple tries to get it working properly on my door. So... READ the manual. Make sure the larger piece is on the door and the smaller piece on the frame, in vertical position, and the two dots are nearest each other.

Adhesive strips make mounting easy, and holes are also provided if you wish to mount with screws. It was very easy to set up with my Schlage Link system. My only minor complaint is that it uses an unusual battery which might be hard to find.

I bought two of these and damaged one during inclusion. There is a tamper switch you use, per directions, to trigger inclusion. I have a VeraLite system and this didn't work. Finally I popped the batteries out and put them back in and the inclusion went through without difficulty. Problem was I had to open and close the delicate sensor housing several times before problem discovery. Prior to discovery I received an acknowledgement the VeraLite had successful inclusion but it did not appear on my dash board. During repeated opening and closing of the sensor housing I cause a bend in the LED and after that the unit did not function. It was my heavy handed fault in damaging it. The clip on the housing requires a softer touch to engage the backing. Be careful re-attaching the sensor housing to the back. The second sensor was no problem since I knew what to do.

The switch works fine, exactly as specified and it gives a tripped /non-tripped signal. I think these are the best triggers for programing for the novice programmers out there, me included. I give it a 4 star although I considered a three. The manufacturer and I are both to blame for the broken sensor but the sensor works well and the adhesive holds well. I have the sensor adhered to an aluminum sliding glass door that receives ocean air while opened and I have had no indication of problems with the adhesive. So I will give it an initial Four star rating.

I bought four of these in April 2015 to use with my Vera Home Controller in a condo I rent out. In reviews I was under the impression they worked with Vera. After six months installed I found technically they work, in reality they have issues maintaining their connection. With research I have learned the issues are related to incompatibility with the current Vera V17 operating system. In Vera forums people who used V15 had great results with this device then experienced the same problems I have when they upgraded to V17.
My sensors will arm and disarm using the controller and I can get notifications of activity (open/close). Although I get three notifications every time a door opens and closes, two saying opened and one saying closed. I think this is more of a Vera quirk. Unfortunately in the Vera dashboard, these units show as disconnected, I always have this warning they are disconnected, yet they work. One of my doors shows as open for long periods (weeks) which I am able to reset when I visit, but makes it very in reliable it terms of knowing what is really happening. I think the Aeon DSB29 may be a better choice if you use V17 Vera. Although DSB04100 works I do not recommend it with Vera V17, it sounds like it worked perfectly V15.
