Comfort: Super comfortable. They're light, and there's lots of padding in all the right places.

Construction: These are not the most solidly-built phones out there, but they're put together pretty well. The band isn't very flimsy, but the little metal rods that connect to the ear cans feel like they would suffer from bad storage in transit. The rods are also connected by a small piece of wood which is then covered by a slidey little metal plate, which I'm sure will be the first thing that breaks. All said, they'll probably last a while, but not without some broken bits. Being stuffed in a backpack full of books and things will probably kill them pretty quickly.

Noise isolation: Decent. These phones keep some small noises (paper shuffling, low conversation) out, but any noises of medium to loud volume will interrupt your music. They don't do a great job of keeping noise in, either. Expect people in an office not to notice, but in a library, you'll have to keep the volume low.

Sound: with custom EQ (achievable on iOS through a number of apps like Equalizer) and an amp you can get a sound that is balanced, clear, with solid bass -- in general pretty dang good. Right out of the box, they sound good. Messing with EQ will yield the best possible sound, which is quite satisfying. However, driven by an iphone 6 only, you get a lot of distortion and buzzing in the mid to high frequencies at medium to loud volumes. I tested these out on a stereo head unit and also through a computer, and the source of made a big difference in where the distortion showed up, so it seems that the iPhone is to blame.

Loved these headphones. The left-side just went out after a year and a half - there is a loose connection where the cord attaches to the mic control (pushing the mic button or wiggling the wire "fixes it."). These headphones have lived in on my office desk - they were not treated roughly so I am really sad that they only lasted about 18 months as they were very comfortable and had good sound.

I was looking at the skull candy aviators. I read a lot of review from other websites and the reviews from this one. The reviews on this site seem to be accurate. I hope to enjoy these for sometime.

Great set of headphones, but it wasn't until I opened the packaging that I realized how PURPLE this particular set is. I'm not sure if a refund is allowed at this point due to the opening of the package, so I'm stuck with a set of purple headphones I think. I thought they were brown, white, and black. They are in fact brown, white, and purple. Buyer beware.

TL: DR - A very okay set of headphone at a reasonably low price.

Pro: Esthetically pleasing, good quality material. good design, workmanship and built for the price point. Inline mic.

Con: Over the ear design yet does not isolate any sounds. Adjustable but not able to lock position. Sound quality is on par with others at similar price point. Purple don't go with Brown.

If you are looking for the best available over the ear headset at this low price point, you should take this headset into consideration. The inline microphone along with the retro styling and color options (some color combinations are at a premium) do place this unit at a higher value proposition.

Unit is constructed with a myriad of materials, each offers a different tactile experience.

Starting from the very top. Over the head portion, consisted of a medium thick hard plastic support inner core wrapped with a soft yet firm foam outer covers with a smooth brown leather top surface and with a purple shiny smooth bottom. The brand name is stitched onto the top using alike color thread to blend in, yet conspicuous.

Bare stainless steel wires extend out creating a support framing for the ear cup. These are attached using screws and not rivets onto the top piece. To connect the speaker cups, it is using a black braided wiring, a very nice touch.

Onto the ear cups. These are over the ear cups, completely covers the entire ear do nothing for sound isolation. May be it is a design goal because they achieves this without a doubt. You can still hear the slightest noise and sounds surrounding you. A worth mentioning points is the cup offers a tactile adventure for your fingers.
