I have the transmitter hooked up to the output of the HD TIVO and have it powered with a small USB ac adapter. Keep the receiver and earbuds on the night stand. Great for late night listening. Much better than IR headphones.

Great little product!

4.0 out of 5 stars Lots of fun!, January 4, 2009

This is a great iPod accessory! A very fun and easy way to share your music WIRELESSLY with friends. No more sharing ear buds. Just charge up the i2i and connect it between your iPod and your ear buds or headphones. The center button lights up and pressing it cycles it through several colors, each representing a broadcasting channel. You and your partner(s) press the center button until your units show the same color. Use the adjacent buttons to send or receive. Anyone in the group can send his music and the others can choose to receive it or not. Switching between sending and receiving is as easy as changing the color of the center button. You can also adjust the volume on the i2i so that your volume is not dependent on the sender's volume. We use these when we are exercising since the wireless connection allows us to move freely and independently. The units are small, light, and work very well together. I give 4 stars only because they seem overpriced, although you get 2 units and lots of connectors in this package.

5.0 out of 5 stars Enhancing your movie watching, August 15, 2008
This review is from: Aerielle i2i Wireless Digital Audio Device for iPod and MP3 Players (Black) (Electronics)
Adding surround sound wirelessly. I enjoy watching movies and I use my i2i Streams to create a better sounding experience by attaching an i2i Stream to my TV and a few streams to powered speakers. No installation or cables needed. The range is 30+ feet so I can move the speakers around to improve sound quality. I use the streams when watching movies in my living room and in my bedroom. What's good about the streams is I can take them anywhere, for example, on my business trips and vacations.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Audio Wireless Solution, August 9, 2008
This review is from: Aerielle i2i Wireless Digital Audio Device for iPod and MP3 Players (Black) (Electronics)
I bought this product with the hopes of sending the audio from my home theater system to my ear bud headphones so I don't wake kids in middle of night when watching a movie. I had doubts that this wireless system would sound good but this product is awesome! I bought the two pack and plugged one I2I stream into the headphone out jack of my home theater system and pressed the transmit button. I then took the second I2I stream that came in package and plugged in my headphones and pressed the receive button and that was it! The quality of the sound was like I was connected with a wire from my ear buds to the theater system with no static at all and good range.

We also can have my husband listen to the same movie using his big clunky headphones he likes by using a third I2I stream. All he had to do was select the same color channel as the I2I stream that is plugged into the home theater. We have the whole family listening to the same audio transmitting as long as each person has an I2I stream receiving on same color as the I2I that is transmiting. Very simple.

There are color buttons that light up on the I2I that represent the audio transmit/receive channel. They blink when transmitting and stays solid color when receiving. There are 7 colors so you have seven channels. So if you are transmitting on color red and the whole family are also on red... then we all hear what is being transmitted!

I found other uses for product. I have computer speakers that I plug into a I2I stream set on receive mode and I can then send the home theater sound wirelessly to the speakers anywhere in my house! I am going to buy a few more and connect other speakers around the house. You can be at the beach with a friend and sharing your MP3 music and it does not matter which kind of MP3 player you have as long as you have I2I streams.

I am going to think of some more ways to send music wirelessly! !

today is the 2nd day i've used them. they work great. use them at the gym which is great. the headphone cord is tucked away under my shirt. my mp3 players is across the room in my bag. great sound. no static or interruptions. simple and easy to use. i highly recommend them. my only complaint is that attaching the lanyard is DIFFICULT!!! so difficult i only attached one lanyard since that's all i really needed. other than that, the product works as advertised and like i said is extremely easy. i think it works great when you want something close to wireless.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice to broadcast anything throughout your house, January 15, 2010

This review is from: Aerielle i2i Wireless Digital Audio Device for iPod and MP3 Players (Black) (Electronics)
This is a great product that I happened to get in the lightning deals one day. I have in wall speakers throughout my house in all areas, even out on my patio by our pool. Each speaker has its own volume control and was being pushed with a Harman Kardon reciever. I would listen to either cd, fm, or whatever. I did have to set ir flashers at various points throughout to advance tracks or even movies if we were doing that. Lots of work involved there. Now with these i2i I am in heaven! I have put everything on my Ipod touch and plugged the receiver into my HK and the broadcast of course from the Ipod. I have walked all over (I live in a quad, and all the equip is downstairs). Not a problem with any signal loss, and range is very good. I can change anything I want from anywhere - even outside by the pool or yard work! I hope to get a few more for our boys so we can also put earbuds on and listen to each others when we would like. I already had the usb ac adapter and usually keep them plugged in while playing, but if not the battery will last up to about 3 hours or so. They are light weight and you can't even tell they are there. We have 4 Ipod touches in this house, and each one of us likes different types of music, so when mom/wife wants to listen to something she just changes to the color whichever she wants to. these really are a great little gadget. Definitely recommend!

The product works great streaming music from my PC to my home stereo system. Saves money by not having to buy a $300 CD player to play mp3 discs, & time by not having to burn them. The item arrived promptly, & in great shape. Highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nemo's MyMac.com Review, August 21, 2008
By
This review is from: Aerielle i2i Wireless Digital Audio Device for iPod and MP3 Players (Black) (Electronics)
It's not often my wife laughs out loud watching me review items for MyMac Magazine. It happened during the test drive of Aerielle Technologies' i2i Stream audio transmitter/receiver two-pack.

Jim Dicker and I were playing "name that tune," with me asking him to identify jazz artists or songs from my iPod. We were both listening to the same song at the same time, at optimum audio quality, BUT !! Jim was twenty feet away from where I was sitting. The music was streaming from my iPod to Jim's headphones, both of which were attached to different units from a two-pack of the remarkable i2i Stream.

Barbara says it was hilarious: "It was ridiculous, John, but you two were having such a great time playing a silly game. Two men were sitting a room apart, headphones attached to some contraption, listening to music you easily could have played on the stereo. But that's what men do, I guess." She is correct, and it was a load of fun.

i2i Stream is a device that's easier to demonstrate than explain. Here is the company's official description:

"The i2i Stream is a wireless digital audio device that allows you to broadcast your favorite music to all your friends that also have i2i Streams. i2i Streams can send or receive CD quality sound up to 30 feet wirelessly. You can plug any MP3 player into one end of the i2i Stream and your favorite earphones into the other end and choose one of seven colored channels to start broadcasting. Experience and share your music like never before with the new i2i Stream."

Do you get suspicious reading promotional material such as that? I do. But in this case, the reality is superior to the imagination. There are ENDLESS ways to use i2i Stream with small or large numbers of listeners. The color-coded channels are simple to navigate and activate. The physical device is small, cute, and ridiculously easy to learn.

Neck and pocket straps are included, as are USB charging cables and two lengths of audio cables from i2i Stream to iPod or other music source. Clever accessories are available directly from Aerielle Technologies, all at affordable pricing. MyMac will obtain and evaluate these other goodies as soon as we can. You can learn much more here.

A small printed User Guide is included. Study it before you get up to the batter's box. Otherwise you may not have a clue how to get to first base with i2i Stream. Advice: place everything that ships with i2i into a small Ziploc bag, because no case is included. Every component, cable, and strap is tiny, and you don't want your dog to eat a $60 gizmo for an appetizer.

Sixty dollars? Does that seem a little expensive? Nemo the Marketing Genius would place the street pricing of i2i Stream at $49 for one, $89 for two-pack, and $159 for a four-pack, but that's why I'm not in business. This product is not a casual or impulse purchase at $60 each, but with outstanding audio quality and user functionality, it's a reasonable cost.

Aerielle Technologies should sponsor a contest for most unusual and creative uses of i2i Stream. Some suggestions could be:

* In a plane, train, or bus

* Riding in different vehicles

* Classrooms and lecture halls

* During a parade

* Seated at a sporting event

* At a birthday party

* Dance partners, or dancing individuals

and those came to mind in about two minutes of imaginative thinking. I'm sure hundreds more appropriate situations for i2i Stream are possible.

I will continue to try i2i Stream as many ways as I can. Two college students are visiting for a few days. It will be fun to see them experiment and innovate.

Out of a possible perfect score of 5, we knock down Aerielle's i2i Stream by two half points, one each for lack of protective case and high price. MyMac recommends this product, with a strong rating of 4 out of 5.
