5.0 out of 5 stars Probably Best SHMUP on SNES! January 7, 2014

That being said, the prices being asked for this game have now reached insane levels. Right now you could buy the newly released and brand new Xbox One or a PS4 and have money left over rather than pay the going price on Amazon for Aero Fighters. I know that there are hardcore collectors out there, but even those people will recognize that they're being taken for a ride.

Here's a pro-tip: buy the Japanese version called Sonic Wings that's currently going for about $25-$30 on the big auction site. Next, grab a copy of Madden, Super Scope Six, or some other crappy game for $3 and swap out the circuit boards. Boom. You now have a copy of "Aero Fighters" that works in your American SNES with the only problem being that you're missing out on the deep and compelling story line (hardy har har). Hell, for a finishing touch you can even swap out the labels on the carts if you know how to operate a blow drier.

The market for Super Nintendo games seems to have exploded in the past two years causing some games to skyrocket. It's that damn nostalgia kicking in for a lot of people, I guess. Couple that with the facts that Aero Fighters had a small production run in the first place and that it's actually a very good game and you have what's called a seller's market. Try not to let that collector's impulse get the better of you and play it smart.
