A Handy & Quality Product,

This review is from: AeroBed Minute Bed Sport, Twin (Kitchen)
I bought this aerobed for guests and have not been disappointed. Although one review mentioned that you cannot simultaneously charge the mechanical inflator and use it, and that you're supposed to wait 24 hours before using it the first time, I did not have the time to do this. I ended up only having 11 hours to charge the unit before using it, and it still worked great. Subsequently I have not been disappointed with the battery power - just plug it in 12 hrs in advance of your guest arriving, leave it plugged in during the day when your guest is there and use it each night.
The bed is comfortable and sturdy. It doesn't smell strongly of plastic, and even has a nice fuzzy lining on the top side so that sheets don't slide around like they do on some mattresses. It rolls up very small for convenient storage. Overall, I am very satisfied with the product, especially for the price!

Good product, convenient battery-operated pump system. I've been pretty gentle with it thus far but I think it could take more. It is my permanent bed and is comfortable enough to not make me think twice about getting a "real" bed, yet easy enough to take camping or deflate when more space is needed. I'd say this is a good product for people in small apartments, students, people who travel or move frequently, and serves just as well as a permanent bed as a normal one or another aerobed product, but unlike them is more suited for camping.

I've had this aero bed for a good 2 years now, I've used it only indoors and have been very happy about it.
The areo bed does leak a little overnight but I've had the same experience with all the other air mattresses of this type. In fact, the other ones leak even more (1 coleman twin, 1 target brand twin). It really isn't that much of an inconvenience to put the pump in for a few seconds everynight before going to bed. Also, the paper inside the box does state that you have to charge it for 24hour. The initial charge is very common for most appliances that have batteries nowadays. All in all, I'm very please with this and recommend it.

when used daily begins to lose air....,

This review is from: AeroBed Minute Bed Sport, Twin (Kitchen)
This is the second aero minute bed sport (queen) I've purchased... the first bed, had a leak from one of the seams on the bottom which took some time to find, this bed was in the box straight from aero sealed and unopened for a year and a half or so,when opened I used it for 4 days (indoors only on a brand new area carpet) and it began to lose air, thinking it was my fault since I left it in the box too long and the warranty was not valid after a year I decided recently to purchase the second bed same exact model, within 2 days of use (indoors) this bed has started to lose air slowly (I thought this was a camping bed) and I have to use the pump daily and cannot find a leak (UPDATE;a few weeks later; just like a previous reviewer stated the "elasticity" may now be a problem for me as well).....I have contacted aero in regards to the warranty and they have yet to get back to me...will not be happy if I have to pay anything to get this bed replaced.....In concluding I rated this product with 2 stars only because I do like the aero design and I think the company is the best out there....whether it was my doing somehow?? the pvc strength, the fragile valve or the somewhat thin shipping box this model has been unlucky for me..................(UPDATE;a few weeks later...)Well, the Aero Warranty is Not the Best.....do not understand why I have to pay extra money to send back the bed valve, the bed was leaking within days of delivery and I think the bed should be replaced with No Hassle and deinitely No Extra cost! UPDATE; aero customer service not so nice....I get the feeling they think I'm not telling the truth or something.....my rating should be 1 star now!

I took this to a film festival in the country, while camping. It was great, the only thing, if you're gonna use it camping, have a sleeping bag, it was too cold with sheets and blankets; it doesn't insulate against cold from the ground.

Camper's Dream,

I've got the queen-sized Sport AeroBed. While other campers are curled up on their tiny Thermarests, I am luxuriating in total comfort. The pump fills the bed in less than a minute. Sleeping under the stars is fabulous!

Inconvenient charger -- customer service unhelpful,

This review is from: AeroBed Minute Bed Sport, Queen (Kitchen)
Nowhere on the outside packaging or above description does it tell you that the pump needs a full 24 HOURS to charge before inflating, and there is no A/C adapter to just inflate directly from an outlet! We have guests arriving TONIGHT and I can't inflate our mattress...this is very inconvenient!!! Customer service at Aerobed was not sympathetic, though at this point what can they do. With a photo right on the front of the box of a pump with a plug, it seemed to imply that one could just PLUG THE PUMP IN and use it. They should be more clear in their packaging and description. I wish I could tell you about the comfort of the bed itself, but I need to figure out a way to inflate it first!

What a piece of junk!,
This review is from: AeroBed Minute Bed Sport, Twin (Kitchen)
This bed replaced a Coleman brand bed that cost LESS than half of the Aero Bed. Big mistake, I charged the pump the inconvenient 24 hours and it held the charge for <1 minute. The poorly designed valve leaked right away. The membrane inside worked for an short period, then it lost elasticity-then it leaks. There is NO provision to pump this bed up manually, i.e. with a bicycle pump. The description reads "self-inflating" this means you inflate it yourself! If the pump fails-you have a worthless bed. Its going back tommorrow!

Buy a different one to use indoors,

If you are buying this bed to use at home as a guest bed...DON'T!
I have two areobeds; I bought the first one in 1993 when they had just come out. The pump is attached to the bed and it needs to be plugged to charge it. Fifteen years later it still works like a charm. I liked it so much; I recently bought a Minute bed because I needed another guest bed. It does not say anywhere on the box that you cannot use the pump without having to charge it first for 24 hours. Needles to say one of my unexpected guests had to sleep on the sofa. The battery is NiCad, which means it develops a memory, so now even if I remembered to charge it the day before, it does not run long enough to inflate the bed. They do not offer a separate electric, detachable pump, so now I'm stuck with a "plastic carpet" that cannot be inflated with anything else. The areobeds work great, but if you need one that can be used for any unexpected occasion, buy a different type. |
