I just placed my second order for these long life light bulbs. ( My first order was from Aero-Tech directly, but Amazon now has a lower price including shipping.) I use these bulbs in portable clamp-on reflector fixtures , as a heat source to prevent freezing of certain pipes and pumps in my basement and elsewhere on my property. I've used 7 of them for two winters now , with no burn outs. These bulbs are not an energy efficient source of light for inside homes . They do not produce as many lumens of visible light per watt of energy as do conventional incandescent light bulbs ( now getting hard to buy). The visible light these Aero-Tech bulbs produce is somewhat dim and yellow. Compact fluorescent bulbs are by far more energy efficient than incandescent bulbs . However, these Aero-Tech bulbs are rated for very long life and for rough service , and are also ideal for local heating , drying paint, and other shop and home uses. They are a specialty bulb , and not intended as a direct replacement for conventional bulbs. Given their special purposes, they are excellent and reliable performers, and not expensive considering their long life.

I have been using these bulbs for years for the light under my porch outside my house. They are awesome and just as advertised.

These do the job well.

I have lived more than 5 years in an area with unusually unstable electricity. Residents have put appropriate pressure on the utility to straighten up and the utility has promised to eventually upgrade their equipment. Until then, we wait. Or better yet, do something else about it in the mean time...

In a house with approximately 35 light bulbs, it was 'normal' to lose 3 or 4 bulbs to burn-out each week. Some weeks, it was one a day.

I tried the Feit triple-life bulbs that are rated for 2,000 to 3,000 hours. Those were an improvement and they cut down on the failures significantly. But, I was still changing out 2 or 3 bulbs a week.

So I started experimenting with 20,000 hour rated long-life bulbs back in July of 2011. After trying several brands, I settled on the Aero-Tech brand.

With the Aero-Tech bulbs, I change about 1 to 3 per month instead of 2 or 3 per week. I even sometimes make it through a month without changing a bulb now.

The color and intensity of long-life bulbs generally isn't the best. But the Aero-Tech bulbs have a relatively pleasant color and reasonable intensity compared to some of the other choices.

I tend to:

- Use the 60W bulbs where I don't need a lot of light (they are a little dimmer than normal, I think);

- Use the 75W bulbs where I might normally use a 60W bulb (that would be in most places); and

- Use the 100W bulbs only in the areas where I need a lot of light.

.

So far, so good - glad I found them.

Works fine. With a 20,000 hr rating you will need to check back in with me in about 7 to 10 years to see if it is still working. I prefer to buy things that last. good tools, good lights. So many other things, phones, computers, need to be recycled or upgraded too often just to keep up with technology. I also use LED bulbs, I like them better than CF's. And they too are longer lasting. I'm just not ready to switch entirely over. i use all three in my office. I did give up on candles, kerosene and gas lighting.

The Aero-Tech ULA-95 20,000 Hour 100-Watt A-19 Frosted Incandescent Bulb, 6-Pack...does not actually give off a frosted white incandescent glow, but more of a yellow glow. Therefore, the lighting capability for which is was to be used is no longer possible, so I had to go find other bulbs. I'm not sure what to do with the bulbs, but I won't be buying them again
