Bad pump, good bed,

This review is from: AeroBed EcoLite Queen Airbed and Pump (Kitchen)
Bed is comfortable and has a tolerable odor.
The pump is annoying and needs too much coddling - it has to be charged for 24 hours before the first use, it has to be run down completely before charging again, and then charged for a full 12 hours before using again. It has outdated rechargeable technology - the battery has a memory and will be ruined if you don't follow the finicky directions. I much preferred the pump I had with a prior aerobed that ran on DC power. That said, you could use a pump from another aerobed or buy a replacement pump. The bed itself is fine, and very compact and lightweight when deflated. I liked the previous performalite TPU bed better, but the new flocked top is nice for keeping sheets and things in place. It might be harder to clean though.

I concur with Jonbah, and then some.,

Read the 1 star review by Jonbah entitled "Bad design". Everything he says there is true. I found exactly the same thing (I bought mine from a store before reading these reviews). This is the worst rip off in an air bed that I have ever encountered, and I have been using them, on and off, for 40 years or more. Mine was completely useless, straight out of the box. As Jonbah notes, the only way of inflating the thing is to use their NiCad battery pump. On mine, the pump quit before the mattress was anything like fully inflated. It was too soft to use! And there is no way of topping up the air by hand or foot pump! The manufacturers have got themselves fully covered - first thing out of the box is big sign that says: "STOP, do not return this product to the store!" Call 1 800 eat etc. My advice: Do not waste your money on this piece of junk.

not as comfortable as expected, leaks,

AeroBed EcoLite is definitely lightweight and is without the chemical smell that other air mattresses have but it def has it's short comings. I do not find it as comfortable as other air mattresses. I've had it for a week now. It slowly leaks air and requires re-pumping almost daily. I do prefer having the pump built in and the rechargeable pump is sort of a pain if you need to use immediately as you need 24 hours to charge it. It is powerful for the size and weight.I can see how this would be a great option for camping but I'm disappointed by it for an extra "guest bed". I'm hoping that better ECO options become available soon. It's bummer that most on the market are PVC and have phalates. 2115|R2SQ3I44PK91EQ;2115|RBXZS1SEPPIAK;2115|R2WQ7FXII26RVK;
