The best spacer/chamber for MDI's out there in my opinion,

Since 1992 Aerochamber has been the chamber of choice in every facility I've worked in, and for both adults and kids. This version which you put your lips and teeth around is meant for adults, but can and does work for kids two and up. The thing with kids is that you need to teach them to use it when they're not having an exacerbation (breathing problem). In the midst of one they aren't in the right place to learn proper use.
The benefits to aerochambers are that you can press your MDI/inhaler WITHOUT coordinating your inhalation (breath in). (This is especially great for those with arthritis or kids.) The medication will float around in the chamber until you breathe it in. In addition, there is what is called a baffle at the end near your mouth, farthest from the MDI/inhaler. This baffle breaks up bigger aerosolized particles down to the optimal size for inhalation into the small airways, and also decreases deposition in the upper airways (essentially, without it bigger particles land in your mouth, and throat, which is not helpful and decreases the amount of medication getting to your lungs. This also increases the systemic effects, such as the shaky "I've had too much caffeine" feeling you can get from Albuterol. The baffle decreases this) However, the most important benefit of an aerochamber is that you get significantly more of the medication into your small airways - which is where it needs to be! If you use an inhaler without an aerochamber or holding device you are losing MOST of the medication to the upper airways. Something in the range of 60-70%!!! With the aerochamber and other effective chambers/spacers (not all provide the same level of improvement) you can get something closer to 97% of the medication to the lower airways. (This has all been shown in studies - do a literature review or ask your pulmonologist for studies on this. General practitioners usually don't know all the details on this as it's not their specialty) Using an aerochamber means that you are receiving a more effective dose, and you're wasting much less of your medication. If you want to maximize the effectiveness of your inhaler treatment use a chamber, and especially so one that works. Aerochamber, in my 18+ years experience in the acute and critical care setting, has demonstrated that it works and works well. I'm a major advocate.

A fine spacer.,

This product works well for adults and kids about age 6 and up. Younger than 6, it's hard for them to inhale correctly. I would recommend they use the Aerochamber with mask.
I use this myself. I find it much easier to inhale my medications with the Aerochamber than without. It whistles when I am inhaling too quickly to remind me to slow down and breathe more deeply. Very easy to use. A definite must have for those who use inhalers.

Exactly as described. 1/3 of the price you'll find at CVS, Walgreens, or Target. I've checked everywhere and if you need one of these, but it here.

I was diagnosed at Mayo's clinic with asthma. When the respiratory therapists were showing me how to use my inhalers, they gave me a couple aerochambers to take home. The aerochamber helps make sure the asthma medicine is being devilered correctly and helps reduce the risk of mouth sores and thrush associated with steroid inhalers. I finally made my mom use one this past weekend after watching her incorrectly use her flovent and proair inhalers. She was definitely a little resistent to the idea, but after one use, she was asking me where to buy one. The inhaler was much more effective with the aerochamber. I'd highly recommend these for any child or adult that needs an inhaler.

This was recommended by my doctor to help get more out of my inhaler. It works well. I recommend this to anyone who uses inhalers. It is worth the small investment to use this to get more in your lungs than in your mouth!
I like the "whistle" mechanism, makes me do it right after hearing it enough times. I highly recommend this brand. You get what you pay for, and this is a smart buy!!

I received an AeroChamber Z Stat VHC with FlowSignal Whistle instead of an AeroChamber Plus VHC with same type whistle. Z Stat's OK, I assume, but I think it's of lesser quality than the Plus model. Customers should be alerted to such substitutions and asked whether they are acceptable.

What a difference it is now - using the AeroChamber - to inhale Ventolin, Albuteral, etc.
Before it was all guesswork. When my respiratory therapist told me about a "tube" (as she described it) that would ensure my breathing in all of the medicine more easily, I was amazed. My doctor had not mentioned this but when I see him in a few weeks, I'm going to certainly mention it (and SHOW it to him!). After the therapist convinced me that this item would make things easier for me, I called every pharmacy and medical supply store. All of them could, indeed, obtain one for me but not without a prescription. Then, they said, the price would be $55.00 to perhaps $75.00. I began to feel discouraged but then the word "AMAZON" came to me and here it was, only $15 or so on Amazon. I call it AMAZING AMAZON now! Thanks, Amazon, for making this product available and affordable for those of us who need it. I'm so grateful! Sincerely, A very satisfied customer, Mrs. Jo Mergel

Great product and the price was great! the only problem was it took forever to get shipped, you would think for a product that is for asthmatics they would make it a priority to ship right away, other than that, very happy with the product

This was perfect!! The pharmacist tried to sell me an aerochamber for $75 because my hmo rx plan only covered generic the cheap bag type space chamber. This is a high quality hard plastic that is easy to clean and maintain. If you breathe to fast it does whistle. Great product at an affordable price!! Now I have an aerochamber with a mask and without one for easy travel. FYI The inside coating of the chamber is white-ish but it uses static to prevent the medication from sticking to the inside of the barrel so more medication is delivered with each inhalation.
