It's red, it's a light, looks nice.

I have a situation where a lot of fan noise was going to be objectionable, so we originally opted for a fan that moved a medium amount of air, but was very quiet.

Bought two of these fans to give it a second chance. The bearing the 140mm models use can't handle being applied in a horizontal method (blowing air upward) as it produces heavy rattling and vibration. If you aren't using them for that than your golden as these move the most air for a 140mm in my experience of testing these things. LED's are great and design is cool to. I have 2 120mm versions in horizontal mounting at the top of my case and they are working quite well. See review of the 120mm Shark if interested.

This is one absolute monstrosity in the good sense of it. I put this one as an exhaust fan and it I can feel the air being pumped outside the back of the case, the leds are powerful enough, at full setting the noise is a little loud, but the amount of air this moves is mind-boggling. A must have for any p.c enthusiast.

Moves a lot of air. I mounted this as the rear exhaust in an ABS Canyon case and it moves easily twice the air as the already very good and quiet stock fan. No blade whine even at high speed. EXCEPT, putting a fan guard within 3/8 inch of the inlet side does produce a whine as each of the (many) blades passes a strut on the guard. There is no noise from a fan guard at the outlet side. So, for me, on the ABS Canyon, this is no problem in any location, but if you -must- have an inlet guard, think about it. I will be replacing the stock inlet fans with these. On the Canyon the inlets are shrouded.

The blades appear to have been designed by someone with access to real fluid flow modeling software. May angels drool good luck on him and may his socks match.

Update: I did replace the inlet fans on the Canyon with these and flow is outstanding even at lowest speed and sound is only that of moving air, no "fan noise".

I purchased three of these fans and you can put them in quite mode or let's move some air mode that really to me is hardly noticeable. They are awesome.

The AeroCool Shark 140mm Fans (I bought 2) are a great addition to my Computer case, and comes with a Voltage reduction cable to allow operation @ 7V without a controller (I did not try this) I needed air movement more than silent, these are 29.6 db - a website say's (30 db is Whisper Quiet in a Library)*lol* don't know if that helps :p and the sound of 2 of them does not raise my eyebrows nor has anybody commented or even seamed to notice them, and at full speed this may be more noise than the average case fan in 140mm, but I did buy 2 others FYI -(Antec 140mm Cooling Fan True Quiet 140) that where VERY quiet - but the air flow was nothing impressive, How ever I now use the True Quiet 140mm for my entertainment stand to cool my equipment as you cannot her them and move just enough to make a difference, so for me some AIR FLOW noise was a wonderful trade off as I do need to move some air.

If you are like me, I really had a Hard time finding a fan that would fit LOW noise level with higher output these seam to work well for me and i'm glad I found this model

They say the 15 blade design allows for higher air pressure and air flow! - well it seams to work:)

Specifications:
Dimension: 140x140x25mm
RPM: 1500 RPM
Air Flow: 96.5 CFM
Noise Level: 29.6 DBA

I have a situation where a lot of fan noise was going to be objectionable, so we originally opted for a fan that moved a medium amount of air, but was very quiet. Our application uses 8 of these fans, and is near executive offices, so the noise level needs to be as low as possible. The heat load was increasing as more equipment was added, so we out-grew the cooling capacity of the original fan. I found these after analyzing the manufacturer claims for sound level vs airflow, ordering samples and doing airflow tests using an anemometer. This fan has different speed claims for the different color fans, I only tested the black. It seems that the blades deflect slightly while spinning, and the different colors of plastic have different am0unts of flex, which alters the dynamics of the blade while in operation. But regardless of the color you choose, the differences are probably small.

In any event, this fan was 10 times louder than the fans it replaced, but that means it is barely audible, while the previous fan was totally silent. We can hear it some, but with 8 of them at eye level in one large cluster, the sound level is minimal, 8 is barely louder than 1. However the airflow is outstanding, and far better than much more expensive fans from more expensive brands.

I think much of the secret is a very thin blade material, so thin it needs the corrugation near the wide part of the blade to reduce that flex, the other two are probably just for looks. The unit also has a new kind of bearing. It is a sleeve bearing that uses a fluid as the lubrication. This bearing was designed for hard drives originally. The bearing is probably the best feature for long life, at least it looks that way on paper.

Purchased two of these fans for the front intake on my NZXT Phantom 630. As others have said, these do move some air! They are not the most silent of fans, but I was looking for air flow so that does not matter as much and they are not that loud. Took 1 star off because I mounted them with the rubber silencers and one just snapped right in half while I was guiding it through the back of the case to mount the fan to. I put barely any pressure on it and this only happened with one of the eight I installed. Had to use one of my spare Noctua rubber mounts in its place. Maybe if AeroCool is going to include some shotty rubber mounts they might want to think about throwing in an extra or two because I would have been screwed without the extra I had from an earlier Noctua mount to my radiator. Would have returned the fan if I couldn't mount it with the rubber mount and that would have cost them more than including an extra.
