Cute and fun, but not the most practical,

Purchased this for my Mom as a birthday gift. The basil grows extremely well and produces an abundant supply. The chives are barely growing at all, and if you are only going to have 3 types of herbs, there are plenty of other more popular herbs they could have picked besides thyme.
Unlike the larger aerogardens, this one has been simplified and does not have different plant growing settings (lettuce, herbs, etc.). It also seems to be noisier than my Aerogarden classic (7 hole). If you can afford the classic aerogarden with 6 or 7 holes, I would go with it. This model seems overpriced for how limited it is both by its 3 hole size and stripped down features.

This was a gift for my parents. They love to use fresh herbs, so I though this would be an ideal gift. They love the small footprint (doesn't take up too much counter space) and that everything grows so quickly. They are even contemplating buying a second one! :)

I bought this for my mom for Christmas and she has had so much fun with it. It's pretty much idiot proof it beeps and a light comes on when it needs water,fertilizer etc. The light for it turns on automatically for 17 hours and then turns itself off for six. They also started to come up within three days of starting them. Very happy with it!
