Inflatable mattress,

This review is from: Aerobed Collegiate Twin Bed with Backpack (Kitchen)
I have purchased several Aero products over the past several years. I was very disappointed with the "Collegiate Twin". The script said the mattress was for dorm twin beds, which are longer than a standard twin. Well it is NOT "collegiate" length, so the name is deceiving. Also, there was no information regarding the pump, which I expected to be 110 standard volt. It requires four D cell batteries, which the company did not print on the box. I know I got a great deal on the mattress, if it had been what I expected.

I bought two of these at a great price and the kids can pack them without any help. The backpack not only holds the bed and pump but also has room for a sheet, small blanket and small pillow. It's great for taking to grandmas or friends house......you have your own bed! We have even taken them to motel rooms for the kids to sleep on. I would recommend these to anyone. Good quality and great price.

Great Purchase,

We're very happy with this purchase that we used for our kids when we displaced them from their beds for adult guests. Easy to setup, easy to deflate and store. It did squeak a bit while sleeping on it, especially for the more restless sleepers, but for the price and purpose it was a terrific buy.

I told my husband if we buy an inflatable bed it has to be Aerobed. We tried other brands and weren't happy with it. So, when Amazon had it on the Gold Box deal, I snapped it up.
We are very pleased with this Aerobed. It inflates and deflates in no time, very firm and comfortable; and fold down to fit the compact backpack. It has a nice smooth surface, the kids were fighting to take turn on it. I do wish that it comes with an alternate power source (other than the batteries).

disappointed,

I purchased 2 of these beds. One is fine, the other leaks. I have not been able to find the leak so have to make sure I blow the bed up every night. It would be so much better it they made the airbeds stronger. I would happily pay more.

This is a typical Aerobed. Feels fine for an air mattress. A real matress or a rollaway feel much better. I bought this one on an Amazon Gold Deal of the Day for about $49, supposedly half of its retail value...but have since come across the same model numerous times at places such as Walmart and Target for considerably less than what I paid. Shop around. The air pump works and is a nice feature.

some people say that air mattresses will not be good for your back. When you lay down on this one though, it doesn't feel like your laying on an air mattress. Its incredibly soft, but still firm, so if you didn't know better, you might think it was just a really soft mattress. It inflated in no time. Just put the pump in, and in about a minute its completely full. Im really pleased that I purchased this.

I've been using Aerobeds for many years now. In fact it goes back to 2002 when I started using Aerobeds. When they work they are utterly fantastic and feel like a real bed, whereby you don't even want to sleep on a non-air bed.
The problem is the quality of the beds. If you use them regularly expect at least one year of usage or just when the warranty ends. After that they begin to leak. There's another problem in that the company behind Aerobeds changed the design. Now their beds come with a felt material on top for added comfort. The problem with this design is that if air leaks from the top it's difficult to find the source of the problem. Even if you do it's even more difficult patching it with the kits you get from customer service because they also come with the same style patch, i.e. one side has felt the other side doesn't. Recently I used one of the beds for guest and it has been impossible to find the source of the leak. It leaks air but you can't find it or feel it, except the person sleeping on the bed will be on the floor within 10-15 mins. Aerobeds customer service is not a problem. They will send you patch kits if you need them free of charge and usually replace the product within a year. Unfortunately that's not when they break it's right after the warranty ends. If you plan on using these for light duty then you should be fine if not expect to have problems right after the warranty expires.

My second Aero bed. Very confortable for small guests. Great backpack to store it all in. Cheap zippers on the pack, but no big deal. Definately recommmend this.
