Excellent air bed (so far) January 11, 2010
By Mike M.
This is the first airbed I've ever been truly happy with. I used it in the back of my pickup for a long weekend of truck-camping. I inflated it on Thursday evening, and it stayed firm and comfortable through Sunday morning without so much as a touch-up with the portable air pump.

It is the only airbed I could find that isn't made of PVC. I believe the non-PVC material is why it stays inflated so well. It also doesn't "rumble" every time you roll over, like a PVC air bed does. The process by which PVC is made is horrible to the environment, so this non-PVC air bed is a win-win purchase.

The pump which comes with the mattress works well, and can be powered by batteries or from your car's cigarette lighter. However, it does not have an adapter to be used from the outlets in your home - a minor inconvenience, if you plan to use it primarily for house guests. That's the only downside I've found so far.

A couple of caveats to keep in mind: I've only had this airbed a short time, so this review doesn't reflect my long-term experience with the product. I bought it through an online outdoor-products retailer - not through amazon - so I can't review the shipping or seller experience.

Update, a year later: air bed itself is still doing great. However the pump died after only about a dozen uses. I'm leaving my rating at 5 stars because this is still far-and-away the best airbed I've ever used, and because you can buy a replacement pump for about $15-20.

This is a very low-quality, overpriced air-mattress. It constantly looses air through the valve so that you have to re-inflate it considerably after every night's sleep. This is just so bad, and no, this is not due to me not properly closing the valve, trust me.
The only good thing is that it comes with an electric pump. However, the pump does - of course - not include a power adapter, so you either have to blow an entire pack of batteries (not included) with each inflation or buy a suitable power adapter separately, which should be another 20-30 bucks.
