Great Inflatable Bed,
By Michelle (Northwestern Tennessee) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Aerobed Premier DuraSuede Queen Air Mattress (Kitchen)
I've had other inflatables for overnight guests and they were almost "un-sleepable". And with the other beds, we had to drag the big shop vac from the attic to inflate it.This bed is incredibly comfortable and can be adjusted either way (harder or softer) while lying down. It appears to be very well made. The function and convenience of the built-in pump are great and it inflates and deflates the bed very quickly! We can now take it along when visiting friends and relatives who have less than comfortable or convenient sleeping arrangements for guests. All in all, a great purchase. Now, let's hope it's as durable as it is comfortable!!

Unexplained ballooning,

Up until two weeks ago I would have rated this AeroBed a 5 - in fact, I have been raving about it to family and friends. Initially extremely comfortable, nothing like the air mattresses of old.But when I inflated it last, a huge portion of the mattress (about 18" by 18") ballooned out on the top and on the bottom and it would not lie flat. The queen size bed could only be used by lying on it sideways away from the swollen part, but then the indented imprint on the cover kept smoothing out, accompanied by the sound of bursting balloons. Finally a very slow leak appeared that I can't find, so as the AeroBed is still under warranty I am getting a replacement from Amazon. Follow-up - The replacement from Amazon has been used every night for eight months and has been perfect. My original purchase must have been a fluke. I would highly recommend the AeroBed. 2nd Follow-up - Used the replacement every night for two weeks over the December holidays. There was a soft pop, pop, pop in the middle of the night, and the huge balloon appeared again in the center of the bed. This time Amazon is refunding the price rather than sending another AeroBed. 3rd Follow-up - 10/21/2008 - Both mattresses above were Queen-size. 10 months ago purchased a single-size - no problems!

Best Air Mattress Yet,

I have had a few air mattresses in the past. I was waiting on my furniture shippment from Prague and needed a bed for a month. I hesitated as ALL previous Aero beds would go semi-flat by 3AM (at least after a few sleeps). I only weigh 160Ibs and didn't have any "guests" joining me.Since this is the USA, and Amazon has the best return policy and customer service, I thought, I am going to spend more and get Aero's "best" bed. A month has gone by. Guests have come and gone. The bed, has not leaked any air. I'm impressed. My only additional reccommendation would be to get a mattress pad as the bed is a cold(even in Florida).

Comfy mattress, loud air pump,

I like it and my bad back loves it. It's very comfy because it's so easy to adjust the firmness. This one seems more sturdy than the other two Aerobeds I've owned. The bottom is like the thick oxford weave nylon used for backpacks. My experience is that it's the top where the leaks occur and the suede-like top on this model seems thicker and tougher than the others. Like all the air beds I've used, the air pump is as loud as a vacuum cleaner. This one also uses the pump to deflate, which I found convenient. Although the pump is loud it's quick, it inflates and deflates in less than a minute.

Good Air Mattress,
This review is from: Aerobed Premier DuraSuede Twin Air Mattress (Kitchen)
I've been sleeping on this air mattress every night since it arrived. I put it down on the floor and bought a pillow and a sleeping bag to use with it. It is very comfortable. The pump works well and the air doesn't seem to leak out. I am well satisfied with it to date.

Same experience as Max843--unexplained ballooning,

Yet ANOTHER Aerobed gone bad. I thought maybe if I bought their most expensive bed ($200 when I purchased it in November), it might last more than a few months. No such luck.Felt a pop, and suddenly I had a huge "mountain" of air in the middle of the mattress. The square "seams" apparently can't take the weight of a 106-lb woman, and so once again I am on the couch until the replacement arrives. Aerobed is now claiming that they've never marketed their products for everyday use, which is a flat-out lie. That's the whole reason my mom decided to buy me the first one I had... so I wouldn't kill my back turning mattresses and changing bedskirts anymore. Anyway, these beds are fine for occasional or temporary use, but DON'T think you can sleep on them every night. That was false advertising at its finest, and now they're backtracking because obviously they're replacing a lot of beds. EDIT: Here it is, only three months later, and the replacement bed has done the same thing. Suddenly you feel/hear a bunch of "pops" and the seams start going. Then you get all these big pillows of air in the middle of the bed. It's like sleeping on a speed bump, and that's what it looks like, too. I give up on Aerobed. After four faulty beds in a year, enough is enough.

I have two earlier Aerobeds and they are very comfortable and conforms to support our bodies. This new Premier DuraSuede is like lying on a sheet of tin. The material is so stiff it does not conform to our body. I find it unusable.

When I read in reviews by others that this air mattress was hard, I though it would be exactly what I wanted -- and I was not disappointed. My old soft traditional mattress was only agrivating my lower back (sciatica) problems -- but this new adjustable "hardness" air mattress has done the trick for me. My first impression was that the intended use was for "occassional" overnight guests, etc. -- but I have used mine nightly for 6 months, and have only occassionally had to inflate a little more air to keep it as firm as I like. The relief from the back pain is priceless...and the mattress was relatively inexpensive. I suspect this would also be an excellent buy for thos who suffer from allergies. --Dan, Thibodaux, LA

I have held off my review until several months of owning it... I purchased this bed not as a guest sleeper but to use full time because of how well my back has responded to inflatable mattresses.the first month of use I had to add air once a week to keep inflated. After that maybe once every two to three weeks. yes the pump is loud. but expected as every mattress pump is loud ^_^ This bed has some kind of wierd technology that even with low inflation [ softer feel ] the bed disperses your weight spot on. It almost feels like it has coils... If you pump all the way to full inflation it feels like a firm mattress and not an inflatable at ALL. I added a spacefoam topper 1/2" thick and the feel is absolute heaven. I will never go back to a traditional mattress ever again. I will be a long time customer of Aerobed...

After sleeping on a much more expensive "sleep number" air mattress in a hotel, I wanted to replace my 10-yr old spring mattress with a similar product. Unfortunately, I couldn't afford >$1000 for the famous one, so I decided to try the Aero Bed I had for guests. It seemed to work well, but wasn't very sturdy, since it was meant for occasional use, & didn't have a remote control to inflate/deflate as my needs changed. After research on the Internet, I bought this "Premier Aero Bed" for my daily use, and believe I now sleep as comfortably on this as that $1000+ air mattress. This model is a much sturdier construction than my cheaper "guest" AeroBed, and has a remote control so I can inflate & deflate it as needed. On top of the AeroBed mattress I have placed a 4" thermo-elastic foam topper (left over from my old spring mattress), a mattress pad to hold that in place & then my bottom sheet (flannel this time of year). I now have a very comfortable (and ADJUSTABLE!) mattress for a very affordable price.
