Aerobics Step Platform for Wii Fit

Pros: This Aerobics Step Platform for Wii Fit Balance Board is very stable and does not move, shift or flex when used.

Cons: No paperwork whatsoever, no instructions, nothing.
Weight is under-reported when using the step by almost 20 pounds. Apparently the foot holes are a little too deep. The Balance Board on the step registers weight correctly when I put 2 aluminum coins in each foot hole, then put the Balance Board on the step. Thanks Artdiver1 for the suggestion! Steps don't always register. Solved by adding the coins to make the foot holes a little more shallow. Now they register perfectly.

It works, but I shouldn't have to jury rig it to make it work right.

 

I used this the instant I received it and plan to use it every day now!!

Pros:
1. Easy to assemble. Simply put the Wii board on top of it in
appropriate slots and it's ready to use. No instructions necessary.

2. Definitely intensified the Wii Fit Step Aerobic workout. Felt it work
my calves, upper thighs, back and heart rate increased. I was very
satisfied with quality of workout I received using it.

3. It intensifies the Wii Fit Free Step workout too.

4. It's very sturdy. I had my doubts when ordering it but I'm very
impressed w/ how sturdy it actually feels.

5. I felt it actually did calculate my weight and workouts correctly.

6. Easy to take the board off the step accessory if you don't want to
use the step during other games/activities. Simply lift it out.

Cons:
1. It shifts a teeny bit in the slots at times but not enough that it
altered my workout or frustrated me. I didn't really notice it.

2. I wish I had purchased it much sooner.

After reading the posted reviews for this product, I decided to buy and try. I have been happy with the workoput that I have gotten with the use of this product with my WiiFit balance board. I do suggest that you do place a poker chip (or the equivalent of) in the holes that the feet of the board go into in order for the board to register the correct inof to the Wii. That suggestion was obtained by reading the posts before I bought the product.

With the CTA step platform for the wii balance board you can finally get real aerobic workout. The riser results in a 4" rise, the same as most standard step platforms. I use it with the wii fit program and can tell that I am getting a much better workout. The only negative is that the seller on Amazon is asking almost $45. This is twice as much as others such as MacMall, at $19, are charging

Like some have said, you have to modify this by putting nickles (that's the perfect height needed) under the legs of the wii fit. Stable and a nice height adjustment to make step workouts much more beneficial.

I debated for a couple of weeks about buying this after I read about the issues with the holes being too deep, not counting steps and not weighing correctly.

I finally decided to try it and wish I had bought it sooner. I have absolutely no issues with the holes being too deep, counts my steps and weighs the same as without the platform.

Possibly the manufacturer recognized a problem with the holes and adjusted, I don't know. What I do know is I am extremely happy with the product and would definitely recommend it to others.

I purchased this to make stepping routines a little more challenging; however, the way that it is assembled is inadequate. It comes with four metal screws (not bolts) and they don't seem to be the right ones or the holes are drilled incorrectly or something. When you get done putting them in, the unit wiggles unsteadily and is not very solid. If I am assembling it incorrectly, there are no instructions to verify that or help. It seems mostly safe to use under the Balance Board, but since I have to take it off and on frequently, I am worried that it will eventually come apart or the plastic will break or something. I think it should have been engineered a little better so that it when it is put together it seems more solid. As it is, I am going to take it to the hardware store and get someone to help me find some better fasteners to replace the screws and perhaps drill the holes through so that I can use a bolt/nut assembly instead. Because of this flaw, and the way other users have had to use coins to balance it, I think it is overpriced.

This really adds to the step areobic exercises on the Wii Fit! You actually feel like you are doing something now. True it doesn't make it incredibly tall, but 4 inches is certainly better than the 1 inch you get with the Wii Balance Board. This even made it worth doing the boring one where you step up and down for 20-30 minutes - I did this finally again and worked up a sweat.

It did cause a sweat. I am not perfectly fit, but am not really out of shape either. I easily go for 3-4 mile walks for to run errands, and this did make my calves tight as I kept going. We will see tomorrow how I feel.

Couple frustrations. You can't leave it on for weighing yourself or anything because it measures you completely wrong. Also I can only do this on carpet and it did not register all my steps though I was doing them. That is why I titled this "adds to the exercise, but doesn't help your score." My Wii scores were lower; however, my workout was much better and really that is what I am going for. (I am really competitive so that is not as easy to digest as I made it seem, but I am truly happier to get better exercise and be able to compete in my next 5k.)

I do recommend this if you are using your Wii Balance Board for fun and exercise.

I was very reluctant when I bought the risers for my Wii board since the reviews I read were not very promising. Alas, the alternatives seemed to be even worse and I really wanted risers for my Wii fit to be able to do effective step exercises so I gambled and purchased the risers.

I was very pleasantly surprised that they fit well, are easy to put on and take off and do not make the board feel unstable (I am using on a heavy wall to wall carpet. The only downside is that indeed the board is measuring weight that is not even close to my real weight (I am about 20 pounds lighter with the risers than without them...). Short of that - love it and highly recommend to anyone who enjoys step workouts like I do.

I just got my new step platform and was a little concerned after reading some of the more negative reviews. I have to say that I love it! I didn't have any trouble with the assembly and my Wii fit board fit just fine in the holes for the feet. Some people wrote in that they had to put coins in to make it more stable but that wasn't the case with mine. It works great and it counted all my steps correctly. I have to say this is 5 stars and I'm so thankful that I purchased this item.
