5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to throw and catch
For those who might be fearful of a regular football flying at them, this is a great alternative. It is VERY light and easy to throw. It is smaller than a regular football, but both the adult and 11 year old hands in our family find it fun to play with.
When playing on concrete, the fins do tend to tear, but not right away.

1.0 out of 5 stars Lasted 48 hours
The fins started to rip within 48 hours after first getting the Aerobee Rocket Football. Hard to throw spirals since fins interfee with the throwing motion (fins hit hand upon release). Looks cool. Great idea. Poorly implemented.

Our son, age 11, is enjoying this football. The only thing I wish was different, was the size. Good size for the younger kids, but still my son and his friends seem to like. Goes very far, for such a small ball. Would recommend it to others.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good, January 1, 2012

This rocket football seems to travel furthest when you use a side-arm throwing motion (like Bernie Kosar) rather than an overhand motion (like Vinnie Testaverde). This is not the typical throwing motion we try to teach the kids.

BUT this is a virtually indestructible, far-distance throw toy that is fun to play with and fairly easy to catch. It "flips" in flight, so the tail goes first. Fun for family get-togethers or just tossing around.

I guess throwing spirals is pretty neat, which this ball can easily do with the added fins. For the younger kids, the fins do not affect throwability. He tells me it is his fav football and that puts a smile on my face.
