5.0 out of 5 stars Great buy
I bought this for my boyfriend who is very picky when it comes to drinking his coffee. He loves this mug and uses it everyday. The stainless steel interior makes it so the mug doesn't continually smell like coffee, and the mug holds heat for a couple hours at a time. The build is sturdy and even fits in a car cupholder. I would definitely recommend this mug!

3.0 out of 5 stars plastic plunger doesn't hold up
I like the aerolatte, especially since I like my coffee strong. Unfortunately the plunger broke after about a year.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for Backpacking, June 25, 2006

I bought this mug/french press to use when backpacking. The outdoor stores sell something similar, but made out of plastic. I was willing to accept the extra weight for the extra durability. Plus the plastic ones can't be used as a mug.

This thing makes GREAT coffee. Simply add some grounds, pour in some hot water, wait five minutes, and drink. In addition, this mug keeps the coffee hot for quite a while. I nurse my coffee, and it stayed hot until I was finished.

I highly recommend this product.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not what I hoped., December 12, 2005

This is was the first press I've bought. I only drink one cup of coffee so I thought why not drink out of what I make it in....less clean up. Well, while it's a sturdy little mug for sure, I've moved on. First I like milk in my coffee. I had to add this before the hot water because pulling up the lid after the plunger was already on was impossible to do without getting a lot of grounds in the drink. However by adding the milk before hand, I felt this compromised the temperature of the hot water and it's ability to brew out the flavor.
Secondly, even without adding the milk, I still had a lot of grounds. And this was with coarsely ground beans.
I went and bought a small stainless steal 3 cup press and that works much better now. I don't have any more large grounds in my coffee and it's cleaner. I brew my coffee in it, pour into a mug and clean up is a breeze since I'm not adding milk and drinkin out of the press. And with my new press, there aren't any grounds, so it was the mug and not the coffee.
I even traveled with my other press.
So for the money, this one's not that bad, but I would recommend paying more and getting something else.

3.0 out of 5 stars not too impressed, March 27, 2005

I bought this to use at the office, for those times when I'm too lazy or feeling too poor to go downstairs to buy my coffee. After having used this for about a week, I've found that I often have to have a paper towel on hand to clean the grounds off the rim of the cup after pulling the plunger out, plus grounds inevitably sneak their way into the coffee. Maybe my plunging technique is less honed than the other two reviewers, but I can't seem to make grounds-free coffee with this sucker.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very impressed, works Great!, March 17, 2005

I've used a Starbucks version of the Bodum Travel press and it worked well for over two years until I microwaved it to death (the inner wall started to deform ); after purchasing a second Bodum Travel press, it was not quite as good as the first (the plunger was shorter plus the screen kept unscrewing). After I inadvertently dropped the thing and cracked it (three feet, onto carpet), I decided to hunt for something different and came across this Coffee Press from Aerolatte. Its twice the cost but 10 times better!

It offers exceptional quality and a smooth trouble free plunger mechanism plus it works just as they advertise. The only disappointing thing is that you can not microwave it (for obvious reasons) but I do have access to hot water so that's not a big deal.

Again, highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a great idea!, January 27, 2005
This review is from: Aerolatte To Go Mug French Press (Kitchen)
I've only had this french press for about a week, but so far I love it. I keep it at work so I can avoid the swill that passes for coffee in the lunchroom. I can't attest to the mug's leakproof-ness since I don't actually travel with it, but it is very convenient to be able to brew and drink from the same cup. The stainless steel mug does a nice job of keeping coffee hot for a long time. This is worth the extra money over the plastic french presses, definitely!

1.0 out of 5 stars No Way! Sent it Back!, October 18, 2006

I own a typical glass french press, which works great. I was willing to try this one because of the traveling capability. I would not purchase this again, and actually sent two back. It may have had great insulation to keep coffee warm, but it leaked grounds into the coffee! Yuck!

5.0 out of 5 stars Unavailable?, February 28, 2008

I've bought three and want to buy two more... but it seems to be unavailable now. I like them a lot, especially for traveling. It saves me having to have a pot to make my cofee in as well as a good cup. It serves both purposes. Other people seem to like it as well. Two have disappeared...
