4.0 out of 5 stars Basic Herman Miller Aeron Char
I've used the Herman Miller Aeron chairs for years at work. I love them. They are as comfortable as high quality leather chairs, but the mesh prevents the chair from building up heat as leather tends to do.
The only downside to this chair is that it's the Basic model. It lacks adjustability. It raises and lowers, but that's it. No lumbar adjustment, no arm rest...

1.0 out of 5 stars Ergonomically Horrible
I am an average man, 6 foot 166. My wife (5,3" 120) hated the AERON her office bought her. She couldn't lean back in the chair, her thighs hurt, etc. So we went out and bought her a new chair, and in the middle of the night we smuggled the critically acclaimed AERON to my office. I was excited, ready for a change. That excitement lasted about 30 minutes. The seat is too...

If you want a comfortable chair, get this one. If you have back problems and need adjustability, get the other one.

I've been sitting in a (slightly fancier) Aeron chair at work for several years now, and it is definitely the most comfortable office chair that I've ever used. I can sit in this for hours without any discomfort.

The basic model lacks easy armrest adjustment. You select the armrest site when assembling the chair, and it requires a bit of disassembly to adjust. Not a problem for me, as I'm the only frequent user of the chair. The version I have at my office has a quick adjust, but I can't recall ever adjusting it after initial set-up. If you'll have multiple people of different size using this chair, this might not be the right model for you.

This definitely isn't a cheap chair (I'm assuming there's lots of profit somewhere in the chain), but I sit in this thing every day, and I'd definitely pay again if I somehow became separated from my chair. Durability seems pretty good -- the one I sit in daily at work looks pretty much new after several years of use.

The seat is too short, leaving the lower 4" of my leg hanging. So I got out my foot-rest, and now the only part of my thigh that is touching the seat is the upper 10" or so. My sacrum rests on the hard-plastic frame unless I slouch. I don't find it comfortable at all. I am into Ergonomics, Modern Design, etc. but this isn't a great chair for me or my wife and apparently the office has several Aeron Haters since looking into it.

Before Buying one of these chairs, sit in it. I wanted to throw mine out the window. To adjust the tilt of the seat you need and Allen wrench. I am back to my $250 Office Depot Chair.

I love my Aeron chair, it's very comfortable to sit on for hours on end when I'm on my desktop computer.

Love the chair, but the packaging was awful!

The box was definitely not new. It seemed like an open box item that they just re-strapped. The box was beat up like it's been through several returns. The chair looks new, thinking about returning if chair gives me problems within the 30 days.
