Lebedev Physics Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is a founding member of The STEFAN UNIVERSITY and is a founder/series editor for several book series. V. Stefan is the inventor of the ultra short wavelength beat-wave driven free electron laser.
