4.0 out of 5 stars A great debut from a graduate of a less-than-mediocre Mexican teeny-pop group
Without a doubt, this album was marketed right. It includes only two great songs-"Tocando Fondo" and "No Me Quiero Enamorar"-and each was released as a single. Frankly, the rest of the album does not compare, but Kalimba makes a great effort combining the Spanish lyrics with which he is clearly most comfortable with enough English to keep no-hispanohablantes...

1.0 out of 5 stars Kalimba cd- Aurosoul
Purchased Kalimba Aerosoul but I am very disappointed because track 7 (No Me Quiero Enamorar) skips for 20 seconds straight in the middle of play! I went ahead & purchased that track from itunes instead.

Without a doubt, this album was marketed right. It includes only two great songs-"Tocando Fondo" and "No Me Quiero Enamorar"-and each was released as a single. Frankly, the rest of the album does not compare, but Kalimba makes a great effort combining the Spanish lyrics with which he is clearly most comfortable with enough English to keep no-hispanohablantes (non-Spanish speakers) interested. His powerful, oh-so-slightly soulful voice is compelling, and despite its tendency towards triteness, "Aerosoul" keeps listeners dancing and singing along with a refreshing hip-pop sound lacking in most "Latin" music.

This is a very nice CD. Some of the songs are in Spanish and some are in English. I don't speak Spanish but I really enjoyed the music very much. I would recommend this CD to everyone.

4.0 out of 5 stars SOUL and POP, March 8, 2005
This review is from: Aerosoul (Jewl) (Audio CD)
Yeah he's from méxico.

I have to say that since he was on OV7 (a pop group with at least 4 discs and numerous hits) always was one of the main voices as same as mariana ochoa another singer who now is doing his own acting and singing career.

the album is full of feeling and ritm mixing sometimes soul with pop and even 80's tecno and others its a really good album to listen when you are at the road and at home.

No me quiero enamorar (don't wanna fall in love) and Tocando Fondo are really cool romantic balads in wich this artist shows the power of his voice and talent.

I think if you are making a collection of music on spanish or if you have the ritm on your body surely you need this one.

i dissapoint with the guy that says the its another "diego torres" since diego torres style is more "centro americano" and the songs are filled of chores and drums, simply isn't that true.

kalimba soul have his root's on the style of OV7 but with the artist new tendence.

4.0 out of 5 stars latin sensation?, July 23, 2005
This review is from: Aerosoul (Jewl) (Audio CD)
I think that Kalimba is a very good latin artist. He appeals to many age groups. I spent time in latin america this summer and he is getting to be popular. He could be the next big latin sensation. Kalimba just has to break out and have a single in North America. I liked this album a lot. The spanish songs were better then the engligh though. If you like Juanes and Shakira I think you will enjoy this album.

5.0 out of 5 stars very....interesting, January 16, 2005
This review is from: Aerosoul (Jewl) (Audio CD)
ok so this CD rocks. i luv it. i luv all the songs it includes. it is quite rare for me to like an ENTIRE CD. it is even more RARE for me to buy a CD since i dl songs instead. its not everyday where i find myself that i have to buy an entire CD since most of the time i only like ONE song from an entire CD. but the fact that i actually decided to BUY this CD is a big deal. i luv all the songs especially "no me quiero enamorar" and "tocando fondo" since its easy to relate to them. i first heard of him while vacationing in mexico this past summer. i didnt think that i was gonna actually buy his cd when it first came out. boy was i wrong! trust me its a good cd if i bought it because im not the type of person that buys a CD simply because i like ONE of the songs. it takes a lot for me to go out an purchase an entire cd. so yeah overall, awesome CD...

5.0 out of 5 stars Loving Kalimba, May 12, 2005
This review is from: Aerosoul (Jewl) (Audio CD)
Having heard and loved three of Kalimba's songs on latin american tv, i felt compelled to buy the album, i wasn't disappointed!!! This has to be one of the best albums i've bought in a long time!! Its really hard to pick a favourite song as every track is brilliant. If the record company ever decide to launch Kalimba in the uk then 'Undercover' has to be the first release. Its excellent! Im now anxiously awaiting his next album!!!
