I like the simple way the fables are written. It makes the book user friendly and easy to understand. The line drawings do depict the stories well but are not very attractive. It would not be very fun coloring for children.

This is a great resource to use to help children gain interest in and remember these classic fables. The drawings look like simple woodcuts and each fable is reduced to a short, succinct paragraph and the illustration corresponds--perfect for a simple introduction and a great help in getting children to remember the fables. I'd say the complexity of the drawings is about a kindergarten to early elementary level.

I bought these to go along with a homeschooling unit I'm doing on Fables. I was a little disappointed at first because the drawings are not full size on the paper. They are also better for elementary kids rather than kindergarten, but that was ok. I was most disappointed that they didn't include most of the fables from Evan-Moor Lit Pockets, which I also ordered. But it's hard to get upset at something that is 3.95. On it's own, it won't teach much even though a brief version of each fable is in there, but with more resources for a 2nd to 4th grader, I think it's an ideal compliment. Glad I tried it.

My little girl loves to color when I read, and I like the coloring page to be related to topic. When I found this book I was so happy. It really made this part of school easier and more fun for both of us.
