This review is from: Affective Expressions in Japanese: A Handbook of Value-Laden Words in Everyday Japanese (Paperback)
Compared to other semi-dictionaries (such as those by Kodansha), this truly contains "affective expressions" that you will encounter in everyday language, that have a lot of meaning (and that, without understanding, you may be lost), but that may not be in your regular dictionary. For example: "tou tou" "tsui" "taka ga" "omowazu" "iyo iyo" "masa ni"...
Admittedly, it is small, but it is also cheap. I especially like its thorough definitions and practical examples. |
