This is only relaxer I will ever use on my hair. It's gentle on the scalp, the hair comes out smooth, silky and beautiful. Sometimes when you first get a relaxer, it take a week or so for it to start looking good. Not with this system. My stylist pretends she cant find it locally, so I purchased it myself and stopped giving her $65 for a relaxer and did it at home. I dont understand the comments on not having directions. All of the activator is added to the base and mixed together. There is no measuring. A lot of people don't understand why this relaxer is different. It's because it is a guanidine hydroxide relaxer, not a sodium or lithium hydroxide. It is actually the perfect perm to use at home because it breaks the hair down quickly and is non-irritating. Buy the 20 pack if you can afford it. Like me, I have to relax my hair every 4-5 weeks. The 20 pack last me almost 2 years. A bargain even if you pay 120.00 for it. I was paying over that in 2 months and had sores in my scalp, tender areas I could't touch, and hair I had no control over.

Overall, I use all Avlon products: Dry and Itchy shampoo and conditioner, the hydrating/detangle shampoo, and the foam wrap (all by Keracare)

Welp, I hear the product is wonderful, and it probably is. I really wanted to try it, but with the single use package, there are no directions as to how to properly mix the activator with the base - how much to use. I earnestly don't understand this. I looked and asked all over and even called the company - AVLON - and they refused to give me the instructions because I am not a licensed cosmetologist. I don't know about anybody else, but I personally won't experiment with a relaxer HOPING that I don't mix it incorrectly and might loose shoulder length hair that took YEARS to grow out. Unfortunately without the instructions I can't recommend this product for home use. Perhaps it's good at a salon - I do hear it is - but for me, when I can get great results at home spending far less time, money and effort than I would going to a salon, I do it at home myself. I'll keep using something I know works at home without a problem (Olive Oil, Soft and Beautiful - both of which have instructions) than take a risky gamble with Affirm not knowing for sure and potentially causing damage that could take years to grow back out. But if I do get some solid instructions I'll try the Affirm, check my results, and update the review accordingly!

The customer service was excellent. The only real problem I had was, the single use Affirm Relaxer came with no instructions and nothing to measure the activator with. However, the single use Mizani relaxer came with instructions and the correct amount of activator. I hope this help someone in the future.

applied myself and was definitely too strong. My hair was over processed and came out in bulks. Only recommended for professional use.

this product is the best!!! i wish i had a before and after photos for you guys. nothing compares to affirm. i am no pro...i did it myself and let me tell my hair looked great. i felt like one of those girls on the other relaxer box that didn't work. i bought it for like 8.99 and omg am i happy
