Partially On Track,
By Will Jerom (Florida, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Affirmative Action Fraud: Can We Restore the American Civil Rights Vision? (Paperback)
Clint Bolick attacks the Affirmative Action campaign as "trickle down Civil Rights", which are insufficient to meet the demands of African Americans. He sees it as a reversal of the color-blind advocacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Bolick may be right, Affirmative Action may in part be a reversal, and can be argued to be insufficient to meet the needs of many black Americans. But his solutions - including giving $2500 vouchers for educational choice - hardly seem to go far enough. I would suspect that most private schools (if you really want your kids to get ahead) cost much, much more! Clint Bolick may have diagnosed some of the problems of Affirmative Action campaigns, but it is by no means clear that he has provided a real, alternative solution.
