The film captures a series of young couples going from place to place, always confronted with a "No Rentals" sign. The film addresses these concerns and exhorts the public to assist in keeping prices down in order to help young families get a good start in life.  The trials and tribulations of WWII veterans is a subject not always touched upon in postwar films, making A ceiling on Your Home a unique and important movie.
