When looking at books on line, your decision is based on the limited number of pictures they give you. I was hooked the minute I saw the Double Irish Chain, and that was the only pattern I bought this book for.

The book does have a good selection of Afghans, that should appeal to everyone, so the book is well worth it.

Although I've been busy on another project, and have not been able to look over all the patterns, I have gove over the Double Irish Chain, and I can't wait to get started on my first one. ( I have orders for 3 of them right now.)

A great buy for someone looking to explore the more intermediate crochet techniques. There are some gorgeous patterns in this book.

I am currently working through my second afghan from this book. I also bought it for my daughter-in-law who is making the Tweedy Circles afghan design. The designs range from simple to some very interesting granny square designs. The part i love best is that the yarns recommended are not expensive and easily purchased!

Most of these patterns/stitches can be found online for free. Nothing new and exciting here. Save your money and check online for patterns

This is a good book for people who can crotchet, but don't have a lot of experience. The instructions are clear and easy to follow.

I looked at the preview of this book, and it looked as if I already have several of the patterns. However, I was able to buy the ebook from LeisureArts.com for considerably less than this site.

There are 12 patterns described as Easy/Easy+ and 24 patterns described as Intermediate. I looked at each pattern to determine why they are graded as Intermediate. At least one had a tricky stitch that will take 5-10 minutes to master; one had a fancy border, but the basic afghan pattern is easy; one is a Granny Square that is usually considered to be an easy stitch. There are 5 strip or panel afghans, 10 square or motif afghans, and 21 full afghans. The strips and squares are great to do in the summer as they will not overheat you as much as working on a full afghan. Four patterns use many different colors, and you can use up your small amounts of excess yarn.

I have dozens of books, magazines, and leaflets with up to 500 patterns, but I am happy with my purchase.

Purchased this book based on pictures and my skill level. I have been crocheting for 20+ years and it takes a lot for me to purchase any pattern book. This one was a good buy for me. I have the experience to follow patterns in terms of what should and shouldn't be. My advice to any crocheter is to buy patterns based on your experience level and you will never be disappointed.
