If you're serious about Fela, and you don't know about Najite, you'd better get hip to him quick! Coming up as Fela's longtime percussionist, Najite was adopted as a godson by Fela when his parents died. With this as his background, you know this is the real deal. Najite lives in Los Angeles now, and he's been making a big splash in town with the help of people like Dj Jeremy Sole (Musiacs/AfroFunke) and Dj Carlos Nino (KPFK/Temple Bar), as well as bands like Mezklah and others who've been reaching out to him. With this, his first solo album, he's proving he's got the goods. "Africa Before The Invasion" is more Jazzy than most of Fela's music, and the lyrics are more introspective, but with funky tracks like Aorieo, it's not likely to disappoint any true fan of Afro-Beat!!

FELA KUTIs ex percussionist in a very satisfying afrobeat recording which first of all prooves with its authenticity and integrity the demanding audience in the afrobeat field looking for something strong and unique ,and no silly and tiring repetitions .A RARE AFROBEAT GEM .
