Soulful take on African music,

Very nicely mixed compilation of soulful african (or sometimes african-inspired) music from 60s and 70s. If you have listened to the INcredible sounds of Gilles Peterson and liked it, you won't be disappointed with this. The songs he's chosen to be on the CD are very unique, and I haven't heard of them anywhere else. That said, it's hard to say how much he's left the original music or how much he's mixed in the new tunes and beats. All in all, the mix is flawless. He's kept the african-soul-jazz-funk feeling through out the album without butchering the artists' original work.
