5.0 out of 5 stars Great for my use
The front is a physical map of the continent with insets of Cape Verde, Azores, Seychelles and Mauritius.

The back is a political map with the same insets and some facts about the countries.

The scale is 1:11,500,000. There is no city index.

1.0 out of 5 stars Rwanda is misspelled
I bought this map because I'm going to East Africa this summer for a few months. I'm spending most of my time in Rwanda. I thought I could give this map to family members so they could follow my trip, or give it to the refugee school at which I'll be teaching English. But the map spells Rwanda, "Rawanda."

General comments about the Globetrotter Travel Maps:
These Globetrotter maps measure 28" x 39". The fronts are really 28" x 34" because the left 5" is the unfolded heavy cover. They are printed on heavy paper that should hold up well under normal use. I make use of a bound atlas that has an extensive list of cities to help me find specific places on these larger maps.

These are great for me because I read a lot of foreign authors (in translation) and want to know where the action is taking place. I have atlases, but I prefer this size. These are not substitutes for travel guides; so buy them for what they are. I have bought a dozen of these (and there are a few more I want). Their being available under Amazon's 4 for 3 deal is a bonus.

If you're looking for a map to guide you while you're traveling the African continent ... look for something else. But if you want a general idea of what the continent looks like, both politically and geographically, this is a decent choice.
