About the Author
The author—Glenda Jenkins Simmons—grew up in the heart of the Mississippi Delta, Greenville, Mississippi. After graduating from Greenville High School in 1979, she attended the University of Mississippi and received a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics in 1982. Mrs. Simmons now resides on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Having always been an avid puzzle solver, Mrs. Simmons realized several years ago that she had not seen puzzle books pertaining to African American history. Thus she began her extensive research to compile little-known facts, as well as, topics of general knowledge to create a unique, enjoyable, and informational book. After years of hard work and commitment, Mrs. Simmons produced her version of a black puzzle book—African American Heritage Pictures, Puzzles, and Word Games.
