This book was originally published in 1979, and contains much outdated material, particularily in the area of diet for your African Gray parrot. You would be well advised to purchase a more up-to-date book if your parrots health is important to you

This book was originally published in 1979, and contains much outdated material, particularily in the area of diet. This book could have had focused more on ilnesses of the African Grey parrot. It is outdated, but it contains extensive information on Grey basics. You would be well advised to purchase a more up-to-date book and I would suggest "African Gray Parrots" by Annette Wolter, because your Grey depends on you !

This book may be outdated, but it contains extensive information. It was quite helpful with teaching my Grey the basics. The book could have had focused more on ilnesses of the species. Overall I enjoyed this book and would recomend it to a new African Grey owner.

This book is surely outdated, but it does contain a lot of useful basics that are still relevant today (I mean, the parrot has not changed). The training techniques it discusses are about the same, it talks about teaching your bird to talk, basic care, keeping your parrot entertained with toys etc etc... All this is still good information. If you find it at a garage sale for .50 cents or a buck, it's worth it. A much more up-to-date, in depth book is surely suggested.

Never buy anything on the judgment of one reviewer. As with all my reviews, the above is only my opinion or observation of an item that I own or have tested. Consider that it is possible that I may have either purchased/tested a faulty unit or an exceptionally good one. Your experience may differ from mine, better or worse. This book stinks. It has poor and outdated information. It's like an outdated cliff notes for Grey's. There are many better books out there, save your money!
