Kambon's work gives the reader insight into the issues that have plagued african american social scientist for years. What does it mean to be a mentaly healthy african american under oppresive conditions? Can active resistance to racism stuctural strian be protective factor for African American mental health. Kambon's work is correctly centered and provides the foundation upon which future social scientist working with black populations should base their work. A must read for black psychologist.
