Format: Paperback
I had the pleasure of taking this class at the University of Missouri with Dr. Hudson-Weems. This book changed my perspective on how I view my relationship with black men and the black struggle as a whole. If you're into black literature, you would remiss without this book. It gives you a whole new approach and perspective on how to read and decode the clues written between the lines of black "feminist" theory. You'll see people like Bell Hooks, Audre Lorde, Maya Angelou, and Iyanla Vazant in a whole new light.

I discovered this author by accident. I was watching Tony Brown Journal and she was a guest. I found her interesting and her theory of Africana Womanism to be quite interesting. I agree with her view on Feminism that it is not an issue for Black women. It is a white woman's movement. I cringed when I hear a Black woman call herself a feminist.

I recommend. It is a very quick read.
