3.0 out of 5 stars A Great Stepping Stone to African Ancestry Research, August 2, 2003

This review is from: Africans in Georgia, 1870
This book is very purposeful in that it can assist "African Ancestored" persons who are interested in finding their "original" African or non-US born ancestor(s). Africans in 1870 Georgia, considering when it was published, was actually a kind of jump start or forerunner to the now Heritage Quest Immigration Series on CD ("African Americans"). Hence, this publication was an innovative enterprise, no doubt. Despite its "traditional" format (hardcopy) in constrast to computer generated data (e.g., CD), it was a bold undertaking and serves as a handy reference tool in the absence of computer assisted genealogical research.

this book does not list all of the counties or all of the blacks in ga it seems this was written just to say that they did write a book. it is a waste of money. a person would be better served by just going to the census until someone does this the right way sorry
