This review is from: From Afrikan Captives to Insane Slaves: The Need for Afrikan History in Solving the "Black" Mental Health Crisis in "America" and the World (Paperback)
Yosef A.A. (Alfredo Antonio) Ben-Jochannan (born 1918 in Ethiopia; known simply as "Dr. Ben" to his students and readers) is an American historian specializing in Africa.

Here are some quotations from the book:

"As I have maintained so very often before: the History of the 'Black Africans'---whether 'Revisionist' or not---will never again be written until the so-called 'Black Africans' ourselves write it from our own African-Centered Interpretation." (Pg. 9)
"GREAT SPHINX OF GHIZEH: Showing its original Nile Valley African facial characteristics as it appeared to Baron Viviant Denon before its face was marred in 1798 C.E." (Pg. 15)
"(A)n enslaved African---Crispus Attucks---was shot down in cold blood and bayoneted to his death as he was foolishly defending his own white slavemaster's freedom against the white soldiers of the English/British aristocracy to which George Washington, a common slaveowner, belonged." (Pg. 18)
"For a captive and enslaved people, which we---Blacks---are, the highest form of mental instability would be an individual who 'lacks' the essential symptoms used by the Whites to define 'Mental Illness'; i.e., a Black who has adjusted to his condition and/or has accepted the 'Value System' of the White oppressor is more in need of the services of the Black mental health provider than the traditional 'patient.'" (Pg. 1)
