Overpriced and Ineffective,

Truthfully I was pretty excited to try this out. Several people I know have recommended a neti pot or other nasal irrigation product for my sinus problems, but I hadn't purchased anything yet.
The directions for use were somewhat lacking with this product, but seeing as how there were only 2 parts it was easy enough to figure out. One word of warning: When you put the top on the bottle, don't press down to hard as this is what releases the fluid from the bottle. I made the mistake of thinking I needed to snap the top on and got sprayed. As for my use and results? The first time I decided to try it out in the shower because I was afraid of making a mess. I irrigated both sides and although strange it wasn't uncomfortable or as messy as I expected. The following day I just did it over the sink, which was a bit easier. The results were pretty much unnoticeable for me. My nose felt somewhat clearer, but really no different than blowing my nose or breathing in some steam. I can't imagine buying this in the future. Maybe I'll give the neti pot a try and see if that is any better. At least with that I've been told it's refillable, something this isn't and for the price you pay it should be.

Much less expensive alternatives,
This review is from: Afrin PureSea Medium Stream , 4-Ounce Bottles (Health and Beauty)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
Using salt water to rinse the nasal passages has been practiced and effective since before the invention of the wheel. The ingredients are, let's see....salt and water. About 1/4 teaspoon of salt to 8 ounces of water seems to do the trick. The method of delivery using a neti pot was popularized to the book club masses in Dr. Oz's book, YOU The Owner's Manual and his Oprah appearances. It's a bidet for your nose. With most products, you expect to pay a premium for convenience. All that effort to spoon the salt in the pot and stir is exhausting. This product allows you to just irrigate and go. But as other reviewers have said, the cost of that convenience is enormous! Even the least expensive vendor charges around $10 including shipping. Contrast that with a 52 ounce bag of sea salt sold on Amazon at about the same price. That makes 300 teaspoons or about 1200 rinses, compared with PureSea's 4 rinses. The math here gets humorous because to be equal, that bag of salt would have to cost $3000. Minus the $20 Neti pot of course. You could skip that purchase and use the pantry gravy boat instead if you wanted to save even more. Irrigating the nasal passages gives amazing relief to allergy sufferers. This product works well and might be a good idea if you need it while traveling or to keep in your bag for some nasal emergency. But at that price point it seems like flushing money down the drain...literally.

Afrin PureSea Hydrating Nasal Rinse functions as expected. A salt water solution does hydrate your nasal passages. For me, that's far better than any other chemical formula that usually has a serious rebound effect.
However, there's a high price for the convenience of this product. A netti pot has the identical result without the cost. This item might be convenient for travelling, however. In essence, Afrin PureSea is quite good. It's just up to the consumer to decide if it's worth the money. 2115|R8XPFZRVZ2KVL;2115|R36D4865YU755P;2115|R5MY99EHNJ9RO;
