Book Description

September 1, 2003
In response to the attacks on America of 11th September 2001, photographer Nathan Lyons, known for his honest and often questioning depictions of American culture, has created a portfolio of images. Photographing in small towns and large cities, Lyons has captured the extreme and often confusing variety of responses - from deep reverence to blatant commercialization - manifested by ordinary Americans. The book has an afterword by Richard Benson and Jock Reynolds.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Unique Photographic Book, September 2, 2003
By
This review is from: After 9/11 (Hardcover)
This is a beautifully designed book of photographs that reflect the many different ways people have expressed their sorrow of the 9/11 tragedy and their pride as Americans. The photographs are presented in pairs and carefully sequenced. Dr. Lyons provides no captions or comments on the photographs. They speak for themselves if we take time to listen.
