If you can deal with the burning.......,

My mom used this stuff on me as a kid, and I remember being a little terrified of it, because it does indeed burn if you've been scratching the bite, as most kids do. It also doesn't smell great, it's made with ammonia.
But after getting mauled by mosquitos in a blueberry bush field yesterday(over 50 bites, I counted), it was an absolute godsend. I tried a few things from the drugstore before getting home, where I already had some stashed after bite. I wondered if it would burn as much as I remembered, but I must have been a whiney kid because it's not that bad, and it's a welcome feeling over the extreme itching. Out of all the things I've tried including witch hazel & other bug bite ointment, this is by far the most fast-acting and long lasting of the bunch, I'm about to go buy more at this moment, because is the only thing relieving these darn bites. Another suggestion if you don't have After Bite right now: wet the area and rub with table salt, its giving you some good scratching as well as the salt water takes the itch away for a couple hours. Another solution: apple cider vinegar. You may smell like a salad, but like the salt, it gives relief for few hours.

Most Effective!,

I live in Michigan and spend time in the northern and southern parts of the state. Misquitoes are plentiful and we have chiggers from time to time in our lawn. In addition to "Afterbite", I have used a paste of meat tenderizer, which works but is messy. "Afterbite" is the only product that gives 100% relief. It works best if used soon after being bitten and is more effective if rubbed in a little with the pen tip. Occasionally, it does give a minor stinging sensation and it does have a strong ammonia smell which disappears in about five minutes. However, compared to the itching of bug bites, it's nothing.

I saw this at Target the other day and decided to pick it up for my niece and nephew who spend a considerable amount of time outside. We were all just hanging out today and I noticed a bite and remembered we had this stuff. I just dabbed it on and it took just 10mins to stop the itching. So I can honestly say it works. If you live in FL, ME, or any other state that is crawling with mosquitoes in the summer months, it's worth picking this stuff up.
