5.0 out of 5 stars LOVED IT!
This book was my favorite of all of the Bette Ford romances that I have read...I loved this book, it would make an excellent movie! The fictitious character of NBA star Donald, made you wish all of the NBA stars were as grounded and down-to-earth as he was. 3.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable
I thought it was good. Taylor had a cute innocence and vulnerability about her. Donald was your successful pro athlete who actually had to work for a woman for once in his life since Taylor was not turned on by all the glitz and glamor. I thought all the negativity about Alex going pro was a bit unnecessary, but oh well.

I would have given this 4 stars but...

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVED IT!, April 4, 2000

This book was my favorite of all of the Bette Ford romances that I have read...I loved this book, it would make an excellent movie! The fictitious character of NBA star Donald, made you wish all of the NBA stars were as grounded and down-to-earth as he was. I liked the fact that he had mellowed to the point where he did not let his ego rule him. Instead of going after some narcissistic, ego-tripping, super-model, actress, or diva, he went fell for and went after a regular sister like Taylor who was working to have her own and didn't want him for his money. Taylor's hesitancy in believing someone of Donald's star status would be interested in her was so realistic. His pursuit of her so sweet and romantic...he didn't want his status to scare her off. Their eventual love scenes were SIZZLING! This is a book that you will want to read again and again...I have.

5.0 out of 5 stars sexy, sensual, erotic, May 21, 2000

This book is worthy of a third read. Normally I give my books to charity, not this one. Donald is a man who is not afraid of going after what he wants despite rejection. Taylor is a woman who is confidant in her career but not in love. My only complaint was with Taylors insecurities. She used excuses to avoid her natural desires... Bette Ford description is erotic, sensual, sexy. She gives me something to strive for.

4.0 out of 5 stars well worth the wait, March 14, 2002

I had been trying to get a copy of this book for two years. All I can say is that if you havent yet read it,go get this book!It is hot! While I will say that I was initially put of by the instant mind numbing attraction that Taylor and Donald felt in their first meeting, they did not immedietly jump each others bones and afterward have the "big misunderstanding"through the rest of the book. Taylor ,while feeling the attraction of the super sexy basketball player, never becomes a doormat for her feelings. She has a brain and opinions and she is not afraid to disagree with Donald. She has insecurities about her attractivness because she is a full-figured lady and not very sexualy experienced. Her concern for her brother,an up and coming college basketball player considering jumping to the pros,is very comendable. That created the friction between her and Donald.I think her character is very real. Donald,on the other hand,is larger than life in more ways than one. His character is shown interacting with his family, doing charity work and being an all around great guy. This is supposed to show that he is a regular guy but come on. While I drooled over him,he never came alive for me the way that Taylor did. Ms.Ford did highlight what these guys go through with the groupies. The scene at the end when Taylor travels to surprise Donald in Atlanta shows the scams that some of these women go to to snag a b-ball player. All in all this was a great read and highly reccommened.

I started collecting Black romance novels about 6 months ago. I read on average three a week. At the end of this book I found tears in my eyes! This love story was so touching. I like the fact that girlfriend had beauty and a REAL body. God... I can only pray to find a man who'd adore me like Donald adored Taylor. Their love making was HOT,EMOTIONAL and BEAUTIFUL!!! I too hope that Bette Ford will continue telling the story of Scott and Jenna.

The story of Donald and Taylor was my introduction into the field of African-American romance novels. And what an intro it was. Donald Williams is a man most women dream about. Tall, dark, and sexier than any one man has a right to be. I read this book in two days. Bette Ford put her best foot out there with this one. It was filled with love and passion. I enjoyed myself from the 1st page. I was truly sad to see the book end. I just wanted to read more and more about this interesting duo. I implore all who haven't read it to treat yourself. To those who have...read it again! I wish there were more stars to add...5 just isn't high enough rating.

5.0 out of 5 stars Relentless Love, June 3, 1998
The story line was an excellent portrayal of a man and woman who thought love wasn't an intricate part of their lives. Taylor and Donald had both put their hearts away, substituting their careers and family for the love they couldn't find.

Then Taylor walked into his life, releasing his captive heart. This voluptuous beauty had ignited a smouldering flame in Donald that turned into a raging fire that could only be extinguished by her passionate touch.

Taylor, a woman who had no use for a man who she felt had unrealistic influence over her brother's future, slowly unbridled her feelings of uncertainty about Donald, and allowed herself to discover that a mans deep and enchanting love and erotic nature could release all her inhibitions and wash away the hurt and fear that had locked her heart away.

Through Taylor and Donald's intimate and erotic discoveries of each other, nothing but love could prevail.

I thoroughly enjoyed Bette's novel and plan to find previous novels and definitely keep my eyes and computer tuned to catch all her new ones.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bette's Best, September 19, 2000
This review is from: After Dark (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
This book is beyond excellant. A true page turner from beginning to the end. Taylor has helped raise her younger brother when her parents are forced to move to a warmer climate because of her father's health. Scott is now a hot college basketball player ready to submitt is name into the NBA draft.

Taylor is not happy with this and does not like the influence the sexy Chicago Bulls player Donald has on Scott. But her walls begin to crumble once she really gets to know Donald the man.

The love and passion between these two is HOTT! Although Taylor has some insecurities because of a pass experience she tries her best to not fall head over hills for Donald. But his genuine love for her is too hard to resist.

If you have not read this book, run and get it. You will not be dissapointed. You will hate when it ends.

I loved reading this book. My only complaint was all the typos throughout the story. I'm a romance junkie, so this was right up my alley. I would reccommend it to anyone and everyone, couldn't put it down.

I would have given this 4 stars but this book has the most typos that I have ever seen in a digital book. There had to be a typo on every 2-3 pages. Someone really needs to edit this book and re-upload it. I really don't see how these were missed.
