4.0 out of 5 stars An eclectic collection, June 24, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: After The Fair: 21st Century Women (Audio CD)
The title "After the Fair" is obviously patterned after the popularity of Lilith Fair, and the message is clear. Women are still making music! There's more diversity on this CD than a Lilith Fair compilation, ranging from electronica-pop to country pop to the guitar based songs you might expect from the Lilith Fair genre. Tara Maclean's "Let Her Feel The Rain" is a standout here, as is the final track.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Collection of Women's Songs!, August 17, 2011

This review is from: After The Fair: 21st Century Women (Audio CD)
After The Fair: 21st Century Women is a music CD composed of a collection of wonderful songs that are sung only by women (of course). This music CD is a result of the other wonderful collection of women's songs in Lillith Fair.

With so many beautiful, raw, and soul-captivating voices, the songs pull the listener into another realm. One such song is titled It's Alright, It's OK and is sung by Leah Andreone. A few lines of the song may give you a taste of what it is about: "She doesn't try, I watch her spirits die, but giving up the ghost would feel so good. A voyeur with wings, flashes a cure, she knows forbidden things, they have a lovely lure. It's alright, it's ok, welcome to this life. Killin' time just watchin' the grass grow. It's alright, it's ok, welcome to this life. Don't worry sweet baby cuz it's over before you know." With the singer's voice drawing the listener in to this tale, the experience is more enjoyable.

My favorite song on this music CD would be one sung by Tara MacLean and is titled "Let Her Feel The Rain." The singer of this song has a voice of such dramatic magnitude that will make you want more. The lyrics to this song have me partially confused about their meaning, which I am still trying to untangle, but the melody is one I can't refuse.

This music CD is well worth the price, especially if you loved Lillith Fair.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than the Lilith CDs!, September 25, 2002
This review is from: After The Fair: 21st Century Women (Audio CD)
I love this cd and i only bought it for 99 cents at hastings! I could listen to a couple of songs i liked here and there on the lilith cds,k but this really made women's music strong enough to make me want to listen to the whole cd. I highly recommend it.
