Editorial Reviews

From Library Journal

Behind this story of a woman's battle to have her husband, a Navy bomber pilot, released from a North Vietnamese prison camp is the more recent fight by both of them to have the U.S. government involved in the search and release of prisoners they believe are still there. Captain McDaniel was released from Hanoi in March 1973 and returned to active duty with the Navy. He retired in 1981 to conduct an unsuccessful campaign for Congress and then began the American De fense Foundation, devoted to patriotic causes. McDaniel describes the resistance of people in the administration to further action on the POW-MIA issue in language rich in belief for this cause. With the recent war and new MIAs in the Gulf, this is, regrettably, a timely subject once again.
