Courageous woman with a compelling and entertaining story,
By BJ (Seattle, WA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: After the Light: The Spiritual Path to Purpose (Paperback)
I felt a range of emotions from tears of laughter to shock and awe at the author's encounters with evil spirits and her ability to keep her outer life together, while developing the strength and faith to make practical use and pioneering contributions in the fields of social work and near death research out of the knowledge gained from her life-altering near death experience. The book is engrossing and compelling. I gained a better understanding of not only the positive but also the negative spiritual forces at work around us and the roles of each on our spiritual path here on earth. Kimberly Clark Sharp's decisions to act in faith in the face of fear and despair and continue on a path of truth and love is inspirational; she is a credible, compelling example of how we can complete our spiritual purpose in life, with wit and humor, even, despite the challenges and obstacles surrounding us. I've read After the Light twice, now.

Author devotes too much of the book to personal matters,

This review is from: After the Light: The Spiritual Path to Purpose (Paperback)
Author Sharp begins this book with much information about her own after death experience, which is why I bought it. And her interviews with other patients brought back to life are intriguing and worthwhile. However, it seems as though she totally loses her objective as she narrates page after page of personal affairs, such as how she met her husband, her pregnancy at 39-40, and finally her battle with breast cancer. Frankly, I certainly had compassion for her, but I felt all this text belonged in a personal diary. Whereas she seems to have connected with God I couldn't help but wonder why she didn't ask Him directly to heal her. Really disappointed with the last half of After the Light. The subtitle being "What I Discovered on the Other Side of Life That Can Change Your World" did have some truth to it. It changed me to the point that I wanted to write my review, and let other people know that those of us who expect a full volume of ADE's are going to learn more about Mrs. Sharp's personal life.

A fantastic account not only of an NDE but a moving, honest, frightening, funny and insightful portrait of life. I love this book! I've purchased 3 copies already. In my opinion, it's a must read. I read every NDE book I can because each one offers more insight and confirmation that our purpose is to align ourselves to the Unconditional Love that gives birth to our lives, watches over everyone from sinner to saint and finally guides us Home to It Self aka our True Nature, the Infinite,Original,Eternal "IS".

Scary book,

As I read Kimberly's book, I kept waiting to be enlightened. Instead, I read a horror story about malicious spirits and haunted houses. This book was scary and not enlightening at all.
