Gentlemen Vampires, November 6, 2005
The very talented Ms. Medeiros has taken a turn from her tried and true formula romances and has entered into the ever growing realm of supernatural love stories. Vampires are the beasts of choice in "After Midnight", and our author doesn't disappoint. Where as many of these types of stories take place in a contemporary setting, Ms. Medeiros has successfully told a tale featuring these undead creatures of the night in Nineteenth century England. That alone is worth the read.
Secrets aren't truly revealed until well into the second half of the book. Often, plots and the twists of so many stories can be predicted from page one, however this tale allows for the reader to do some fancy guess work and adds to the suspense and fun.
The romance seemed to take a back burner position to the plotline, which, in my opinion, didn't detract form the story. The characters were likeable. Our hero, Adrian, was intruiging. His brother Julian, even more so. Caroline, the heroine, was a bit run of the mill as was her sister Vivienne. Portia, the baby of the family, was truly a gem and was the most interesting of the lot. Apparently, her and Julian's story is next in this series.
All in all, a successful foray into this popular realm of fantasy-supernatural-romance. Bravo, Ms. Medeiros!

Medeiros' first vampire book is her best book ever!, September 1, 2005
I love all Teresa Medieros' books especially TOUCH OF ENCHANTMENT and the heroine in AFTER MIDNIGHT is a typical Medeiros heroine, very smart, sharp-tongued, funny, who doesn't take trouble from anyone. But Adrian Kane is really different, dark and brooding with this determination and intensity that makes him so HOT. He had me fanning myself in bed when I should have been sleeping but I couldn't becaause I started the book in the evening and couldn't put it down. Medeiros should have been writing vampires a long time ago. The only thing I don't like is she left the story hanging to be continued in the next book and I don't know when that is coming. But AFTER MIDNIGHT is definitely the best Medeiros I've read. I defintely recommend it.

Refreshing Vampire Story, September 9, 2005
Highly recommend. After Midnight had more of a plot than most romance novels. Yes it had some steamy love scenes but they did not run the story which was refreshing. I can't wait to read Julian and Portia's story in 2006. You really feel like you know the characters. I liked this book so much, read it in one day!!!
