5.0 out of 5 stars This book is a keeper!
Sabina and Thorn are excellent at misunderstanding each other. The plot is well written. Diana Palmer is excellent at writing plots that tugs at your heartstrings. The other books that are heart-tuggers are Coltrain's Proposal and The Patient Nurse. I can really feel Sabina's emotions in After The Music. I cry when she cries and laugh when she laughs. 3.0 out of 5 stars 'S Okay....But not Great
I had to read this one twice over, to figure out how the h/h managed to do that whole misunderstanding thing like they did. Sabina was okay, and so was Thorn, but good lord! When was this thing published? "I hate you -- but let's make out MORE!!!"

I had to read this one twice over, to figure out how the h/h managed to do that whole misunderstanding thing like they did. Sabina was okay, and so was Thorn, but good lord! When was this thing published? "I hate you -- but let's make out MORE!!!"

Thorn is quite the Alpha male, and Sabina stands up to him for most of the book, but the ending is -- almost -- disappointing. Very much an 80's romance.

The main thing I had against it was the pace -- it just went flyin' on by [another 100 pages would have been a great improvement] and the situation was really contrived, what with Thorn's brother and her best friend and Thorn's parents... still, a good book for an evening in.

5.0 out of 5 stars Satisfactied Customer, December 30, 2001

Diana Palmer is so good! This is another one of her wonderful novels. Why is it that I always get so upset at the male leads and then fall head over heels for him? It must be because she expresses the male character so well, you can't help but understand his conflict and reactions. I became emotionally involved in this book and it satisfied me in every way!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great!, July 10, 2000

Another one of Diana Plamer's great books. This was very good and somewhat heart wrenching. She writes so well about the struggle of a young woman, trying to be strong and maintain herself, and how she falls in love with the wrong man. It is great, highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Review Written 10 Years After Having Read It***It is that good***, September 20, 2011

Even after ten years of reading this book the pull in my heartstrings still resonates. This may have been one of the best (or the best) Ms. Palmer ever wrote. The plot was simple but the development keeps the reader engaged till the end. It is sad to say that I do not pick up any of Ms. Palmer's books anymore. She used to have such a great variety and now all she has are the characters created in a town called Jacobsville.

5.0 out of 5 stars So Good, November 24, 2009

This DP is great. I found I couldn't put it down. I have reread it more than once. It is classic in the story line. The heroine is true to her feelings and stands up for what she believes in. The hero of the book has to realize that he could be wrong in his opinion of the heroine. And of course there is a happy ending.

5.0 out of 5 stars After the Music, January 23, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: After The Music (Paperback)
I loved this book, becaus the characters were well matched. It kept me amused. The plot was a good and I especially like the scene where Sabina and Thorn first meet. It's something that would most unlikely happen, but still humorous. I love Elizabeth Lowell's books so it was of no surprise that I enjoyed this book.

I enjoy all of Diana Palmer's books, but this one is especially good - highly recommended.

Description from the book back cover:

It all started as a joke. Sabina Cane was only pretending to be engaged to her best friend, millionaire Al Thorndon. Al had talked her into this scheme as way to trick his older brother, Thorn. Al had no choice but to lie and make Sabina his accomplice, and she thought it would be for just one night. So when Thorn accused her of being a gold-digger, she just laughed it off. She didn't think of the repercussions - that Thorn would dig up her long-buried secrets. Revealing them now would destroy everything she'd worked so hard to put behind her. But she couldn't let her best friend down, could she?
