A MUST-HAVE for any child who has suffered this tragedy,

This review is from: After a Suicide: An Activity Book for Grieving Kids (Paperback)
My little girls (11 yrs) dad committed suicide before Christmas a few weeks ago. My daughter does not like talking about it and will not talk about it. I was told about this book through a friend and found it to be a God-send! My daughter has embraced this workbook and I can now see where she is in the healing process and what specific areas she is hurting the most in. The workbook is a blessing allowing her to respond her emotions in her own private environment without being interrogated by an adult. It is truly a masterpiece.

After a Suicide Death is a fabulous activity book for grieving kids. It's simple, direct and will bring comfort to any child suffering from the loss of a loved one to suicide. It provides wonderful activities that address what is suicide, feelings, dreams, talking about suicide with friends, going back to school and remembering the person who died. A wonderful resource!Crossing 13

I ordered this workbook to assist in grief work from a sibling's suicide when I was 14. I'm much older now but having this tool to tap into my mindset of 14 is more than valuable but comforting. I would recommend this book for anyone in the age-range appropriate to this book dealing with this type of loss and I would also recommend it for older folks, like me, who experienced this trauma at an early age. As for older teenagers, there are also workbooks specifically for that population that are better suited than this one.

This wonderful activity book has quotes from kids who have also experienced the death of someone they know by suicide. It includes a variety of activities and places to share memories and work through grief. Writing is a great way for kids to express themselves as they grieve in the days and years ahead. Practical information from an explanation of suicide to how to deal with the jumble of feelings makes this not only a great book for kids; it is also helpful to adults trying to help kids.
There isn't a lot out there for kids grieving the loss of someone they know to suicide. This book is a gem!
