one of the great pulp novels of all time,
and worth searching out...the quality of the prose becomes moot in the face of Williamson's soaring romanticism...The passing of ages sequence recalls Stapledon's "Star Maker" in its thrilling momentum...wonderful characters and one of the great archetypal SF plot lines...and the most evil, orwellian SF character ever, get the old Digit edition with the hilarious misprints.
