From looking at the other reviews I have to wonder if I have the same gun, or if I am just lucky.
I have had this gun for nearly a year now and I'm really happy with it.
I bought it at big 5 for $80 and soon took it out for a test drive. I always take it out when having a skirmish and it has never let me down.
I had been after an M9 gas blow back for some time and found the Aftermath to be quite striking with the skull logo on the side of the slide.
As other reviews have stated, it is only the top slide which is full metal, with the lower half being abs. Personally I have not found this to be a problem, as when the mags in, the gun is still quite heavy. I have found this gun to be a solid shooter and accurate. Shooting in full auto is also a blast (no pun intended).
Whenever I purchase a new gun, I always check it to ensure it is well lubed and everything is adjusted and tightened correctly.
I found the fire selector switch was slightly loose and tightened it with a small allen key. I also ensure it is cleaned, lubed and check all moving parts prior to putting it away after use. This may be the reason why I have never experienced those problems reported in other reviews.
I see from other reviews that some complain about gas consumption and loading the co2 cartridges. Firstly, gas blow back pistols are gas guzzlers. You will find that to be the case with all gbb pistols. If that's a problem, get a non-gbb or go electric. That's the trade off for the realistic action.
Secondly, the loading of the c02 cartridge into the mags is no different for this or any other more expensive gun. A little always escapes when screwing it in, you just have to be quick. I bought standard size mags anyway as I found the extended one too cumbersome.

This gun is so awesome!!! Now the only reason I didn't rate this 5 stars is because when I got it the first time the mag broke but amazon has awesome return polices. Poeple say that when you shoot a mag on full auto it runs out of co2 but it lasts abaut 1 1/2.Mag's. Here are pros and cons.
Pros
Shoots sooooooo fast on full auto
hits hard
Extended mag
Good weight
Ok price
Blowback

Cons
Uses a lot of co2
not to accurate
vibrates on full auto
Some of the bottom is ABS

That's my reivew. Thanks.

The Negatives:
The Aftermath Typhon (Should be Typhoon) CO2 Blowback Airsoft pistol is a clone of the HFC M92 Vertec CO2 pistol from what I can see. Everything said in previous reviews is true, though I've only experienced it once, the fire selector managed to switch to semi-auto while I was using the full-auto feature. The gun never jammed on me when i used fresh bb's, it jammed on me 2 out of 35 bb's when I reused the same ones repeatedly. One completely new problem that I experienced that I haven't seen in reviews is that the right fire selector tends to come off during full-auto fire, but only because the screw that supposed to hold it in wasn't exactly in the threads. it's just a minor problem because it does not affect the gun at all. One thing that i thought was really cheap, is that part 27 which is the Trigger link rod, is made from 2 pieces, the first piece is the large rod that is visible without dismantling. The second piece is the small bud at the end of it which actually controls the Hammer for semi and full-auto. It was fragile and broke out of place. But this was nothing some 5 minute epoxy couldn't fix. Also the paint on the slide and barrel come off easily at points of wear, which is okay, but the paint should still be a bit more durable. It seems like a lot of problems but they are only minor flaws. A precaution I took before actually firing the gun was dismantle the gun and oil everything.

The Positives:
This gun is just amazing. I've gone through 5 Co2 cartridges and experienced the minor problems listed above, but because those flaws were able to be fixed for free, I still felt the gun deserves a bit more praise for what it is. the tactical rail was a nice add-on. i currently have a laser sight attached to it and it really fulfills the gun's overall look.

Shortly after receiving the product the fire selector would only stay on full auto. I tried to put it on semi auto fire and it wouldn't do anything. I hope that this is a malfunction with only this one. I haven't seen any complaints with the same problem. When it worked properly I loved it.

One of my boys and I each got one of these when they went on sale at Big-5 Sporting Goods for about $47 (plus tax). For the money, it's a great gun. It shoots fast, accurate, and powerful, and full auto on this will make you giggle. Unfortunately, my son's magazine broke (it wasn't dropped, just a plastic piece inside broke off) after only a couple CO2 canisters. Mine is still working fine, but from everything I'm reading, I'd be cautious spending more than $50 on it. I get about 2.5 magazines per CO2 canister, and those suckers aren't easy to reload out in the heat of battle (my boys regularly have 10-20 people over for battles and I go play with them in the woods out back). This pistol is a great backup piece, but I wouldn't use it as my primary.
