Ever had a bad day? A bad year? Or worse, think you've got a bad life? Try being burned alive and having your face melted off in a car wreck covered in gasoline. Kc's story will inspire you, your friends, your children, church and relatives.

Kc Kopaska has written a masterpiece - a story not created in his mind but burned into his flesh - a story that he realized could have had a totally different outcome had he not asked Jesus to help him live through and beyond his fiery trial. He survived child-hood abuse only to turn to drug and alcohol abuse. The path of self-destruction he chose in his youth ended in a fiery crash that forever changed his life. He bears the physical scars of his youthful mistakes but gives a message of hope: whether your scars are visible or invisible, Jesus can heal them.

I had the privilege of meeting Kc and his lovely wife in our younger days - we attended the same seminary 26 years ago. In fact, we walked the same streets in our youth where Kc went to school in Ankeny, Iowa. I traveled from Europe every summer there to visit my grandparents in and worked on the farms there. Although we didn't know each other at the time, we knew some of the same people, swam at the same public pool, and probably partied at some of the same events. Fortunately, both our paths converged at the same place - the Cross of Jesus where we met the risen Christ who called us to put leave our worries, hurts and foolish, selfish ways at the foot of the cross and follow Him as our risen Savior.

Kc struck me from the start as a man humbled by his life changing event and emboldened to help others out of their empty, hurting lives into the full life that Jesus promises in John 10.

I judge a good book if I can't put it down. I couldn't put "AfterBurn" down. Kc's story will challenge and push you to do more with your life as well. You'll love his humor, honesty, and want to get to know more of how God is using him. It's also a tremendous story because though really the ending isn't finished (Kc is still alive) you want to know how the rest of the chapters of his life are written. It's hard to write a book with many audiences. No matter what your age, stage of life, or where you are at your relationship with God you will feel Kc's pain and triumph.

I finished it! Actually, I couldn't put it down. I read it until about 12:30AM. Amazing book! I totally felt like Kc was sitting in the living room telling me this story. I was challenged by the agonizing pain that he had to endure, and the faith that was birthed out of it. Kc's testimony is amazing and everyone should read this book! You will laugh, you will cry, and you will be challenged!

This is a very emotional book. I have met Kc Kopaska and heard his testimony and was truly amazed of the wonder of God's hand in his life. You will laugh and you will cry reading this book. I could not put it down until I finished it. Kc is truly a amazing & inspirational person to talk to and listen to. This is how my church got started with working with the Native American's.
